The Mortal Instruments Italian Covers

Cassie posted today on her lj site (http://cassandraclare.livejournal.com/34560.html) that the Italian covers for The Mortal Instrument Series have been re-jacketed. You can see the rest of the pictures via the link to Cassie's site. Here's what she says,
"So my Italian publisher did a complete repackage of all the Mortal Instruments books for their paperback line. They're dark and romantic and I truly love them. (Just don't ask me who the people making out on the cover of City of Ashes are. I am sure it's supposed to be Jace and Clary, so you just have to let the hair color go."

We think they look amazing! What do you guys think?

The Examiner.com's Most Anticipated YA Books for 2010

We are so excited that Cassandra Clare's City of Fallen Angels made this list!! Here's what the Examiner posted about CoFA:

August 31st - The Clockwork Angel (Infernal Devices #1) by Cassandra Clare

When the third book in Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series was released last Spring, fans thought that was it … until Clare announced plans for a fourth book in the series, and a trilogy of prequels, called The Infernal Devices. The first of those prequels, The Clockwork Angel hits store shelves at the end of August. The series features a group of fallen angels who protect the Earth from demons, while attempting to coexist with vampires, werewolves and fairies.

You can read the article and see what other books made the list here. It's an amazing list!

5 Stars

Hunger for nourishment.

Hunger for touch.

Hunger to belong.

Half-human and half-faery, Ani is driven by her hungers.
Those same appetites also attract powerful enemies and uncertain allies, including Devlin. He was created as an assassin and is brother to the faeries’ coolly logical High Queen and to her chaotic twin, the embodiment of War. Devlin wants to keep Ani safe from his sisters, knowing that if he fails, he will be the instrument of Ani’s death.

Ani isn’t one to be guarded while others fight battles for her, though. She has the courage to protect herself and the ability to alter Devlin’s plans—and his life. The two are drawn together, each with reason to fear the other and to fear for one another. But as they grow closer, a larger threat imperils the whole of Faerie. Will saving the faery realm mean losing each other?

Alluring romance, heart-stopping danger, and sinister intrigue combine in Melissa Marr’s next volume of Melissa Marr’s New York Times bestselling Wicked Lovely series. (taken from goodreads)

This book totally blew me away with it's dark, alluring, magical, and dangerous love. Melissa Marr has spun such a wonderful web, into her faerie world, interlocking each faerie court with each other. On top of an amazing story, the cover in itself is beautiful! HaperTeen has done an amazing job with each of the covers in the Wicked Lovely Series. Now on to my thoughts about Radiant Shadows.

I was doomed to a sleepless night last night as soon I read the first two pages. I couldn't put it down. Radiant Shadows is Ani and Devlin's point of view and I think this is my favorite book out of the series. I loved getting to know both characters. I liked getting glimpses into the summer court, and getting to know more of the characters I fell in love with from the rest of the books. I'm trying really hard not put any spoilers in here. Radiant Shadows answers some questions that were left in other books in the series, as well as leaves a set of new questions to be answered in the next installment.

As the faerie courts are starting to hang in the balance of the war Bananach continues to persue, Ani and Devlin become the key players in keeping the balance that ties all the courts together. What they don't except, is how it ties them together. As Bananach's rage grows, loved ones will die and new alliances will be formed, which will change the balance of one of the courts. Some characters will become what they have always been destined to be. Characters who had minor roles before, are now the major characters in this book.

I loved seeing more interaction with Gabriel, Niall, and Irial, as well as Ani, her brother Rabbit, and sister Tish. There's a whole different side to the Dark Court that I just love and it's the bounds of family. I like the roles that members of the Dark Court play in the story. Ani had my heart from the start of the book. She's such a strong, fierce character who finds where her place as the story progresses.

I really like that both Devlin, the High Courts Assign and Ani, a member of the Dark Court and daughter of the Lead Hound, with her own lethal way of being able to kill, are brought together in a way you wouldn't have excepted. I loved both of their points of view and what I didn't except was to fall in love with Devlin's character

In Radiant Shadows we begin to see some of the key characters from the Wicked Lovely series in a different light than how we've seen them before. This is a must read for every Wicked Lovely fan!! Even if you haven't re-read the series in awhile, you'll be able to understand exactly what's going on. Be sure to pre-order this now!!

Waiting on Wednesday-Scarlett Fever by Maureen Johnson

to be Released on February 1st, 2010

Ever since Mrs. Amberson, the former-aspiring-actress-turned-agent, entered Scarlett Martin's life, nothing has been the same.

She's still in charge of the Empire Suite in her family's hotel, but she's now also Mrs. Amberson's assistant, running around town for her star client, Chelsea - a Broadway star Scarlett's age with a knack for making her feel insignificant.

Scarlett's also trying to juggle sophomore year classes, her lab partner who is being just a little TOO nice, and getting over the boy who broke her heart.

In the midst of all this, her parents drop a bombshell that threatens to change her New York life forever...

We are looking forward to Maureen's newest release, as we really enjoyed reading Suite Scarlett. We can hardly wait to see what Mrs. Amberson is up to and what happens to Scarlet next.
