39 Clues Book #7 Release

Today I received an awesome email from Scholastic about today's release of 39 Clues book #7- The Viper's Nest. The most exciting news about the series, if you've been reading it, is Amy and Dan find out which branch of the Cahill Family they belong to!

Scholastic has kicked off the release of The Viper's Nest with a tour that started today!!
As the race to find the clues intensifies, author Peter Lerangis will embark on a national book tour, giving fans a first-hand look at the series that has captivated kids and educators from all 50 states and 191 countries. The tour(which starts today) features events in schools, bookstores, and libraries - check out the schedule here. We hope to see you there! (quote from their blog).

More cards, more clues revealed and more adventures are sure to make book #7 a huge hit. I'll be honest, I've only read book 6, as we received from Scholastic for a review, and from reading the book, I have fallen in love with the story. I quickly picked up and understand what the plot was and what was going on. You can read that review here. I'm definitely going to be picking up The Viper's Nest.

Raised By Wolves Cover Revealed

We have loved the very thought of this book from the moment we first stumbled upon it. Jennifer tweeted her new cover today and it's left us all a little breathless.

Jennifer writes on her blog -

A little background: this isn't the cover on the ARC, which was a placeholder while we fine-tuned the real thing. My publisher, Egmont, has been working (and working and working) on this cover for months, and they've been really awesome about letting me be part of the process. We honestly went through at least a half-dozen cover concepts, and I don't know how many different variations on this one (fifteen? twenty?). We tried different shots of our cover model, different color schemes, different compositions, different title fonts...

And I really, really love the end product. What do you guys think?

Please be sure to tell her what you think, too. But, I am, yes, breathless. Here's the synopsis from goodreads.com:

PACK LIFE IS ABOUT ORDER, BUT BRYN IS ABOUT TO PUSH ALL THE LIMITS, WITH HAIR-RAISING RESULTS.

At the age of four, Bryn watched a rabid werewolf brutally murder her parents. Alone in the world, she was rescued and taken in by Callum, the alpha of his pack. Now fifteen, Bryn's been raised as a human among werewolves, adhering to pack rule (mostly). Little fazes her.

But the pack's been keeping a secret, and when Bryn goes exploring against Callum's orders, she finds Chase, a newly turned teen Were locked in a cage. Terrifying memories of the attack on her mom and dad come flooding back. Bryn needs answers, and she needs Chase to get them. Suddenly, all allegiances to the pack no longer matter. It's Bryn and Chase against the werewolf world, whatever the consequences.

An exciting new paranormal adventure, with a heroine who rivals Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Raised By Wolves will leave you howling for more.

Raised by Wolves will be released on June 10, 2010 by EgmontUSA. Be sure to pre-order it at your favorite bookstore now.

Twitter Tuesday - Andrea Cremer

We've been following, Andrea Cremer, one of The Tenners for a while now on Twitter. Imagine how thrilled I was when I spied these tweets from Andrea's publisher:

If Becca Fitzapatrick recommends Nightshade, it definitely gets my attention. So I headed over to Andrea Cremer's website and I found this synopsis:

While other teenage girls daydream about boys, Calla Tor imagines ripping out her enemies’ throats. And she wouldn’t have it any other way. Calla was born a warrior and on her eighteenth-birthday she’ll become the alpha female of the next generation of Guardian wolves. But Calla’s predestined path veers off course the moment she saves the life of a wayward hiker, a boy her own age. This human boy’s secret will turn the young pack's world upside down and forever alter the outcome of the centuries-old Witches' War that surrounds them all.

Then I clicked over to Andrea's blog and read through her Q&A post. Here's my favorite answer:

Q: What part of your novel did you have the most fun writing?

A: It's a tie. 1) The mythology. I study the history of witchcraft, but taking that history and creating an entire world around it was one of the most wonderful things I've ever done. I love the history and myth of NIGHTSHADE and I really hope readers are as drawn into as I was while weaving it from the first threads. 2) The kissing. There is lots of kissing and *coughs* more nookie goodness in NIGHTSHADE and WOLFSBANE. I'm a romantic at heart and I love being swept away by passion. My characters get swept. Often.

We all know how Mundie Moms love "sweeping". Nightshade will be released on October 19, 2010. I know it seems so far away, but I pre-ordered it because I like to plan ahead.
