Thoughtful Thursday-Alex's Lemonade Stand

This week we wanted to spotlight a wonderful organization that I first came to love through being involved with Twilight Moms. Many of us who are apart of Twilight Moms have become huge supporters for Alex's Lemonade Stand. It has become an official Twilight Moms charity, and one that many of us who hosted midnight or early showings for Eclipse, all helped raised money for. Our local group in Austin raised over $500 alone for the stand.

Meet Alex, the brave 8 yr old girl who not only fought hard to battle her childhood cancer, but left a legacy of what it means to lose yourself by serving others. Alex, at the tender age of 4 started Alex's Lemonade Stand to raise money to help fight Childhood Cancer. Before she died, she wanted to raise $1 million dollars, and she accomplished that goal! Since Alex started her first lemonade stand, here's what they've done:

"We have raised more than $30 million, with more than $12 million of those dollars coming from lemonade stands. That money has helped to:

• Fund more than 150 cutting-edge research projects

• Create a travel program to help support families of children receiving treatment

• Develop resources to help people everywhere affected by childhood cancer"

Alex has left behind a wonderful legacy and she's proved, that one person can make a difference. Together, we can all help fight the battle against Childhood Cancer. The Dark Divine Official Book Trailer

The Dark Divine's official trailer is out! Congratulations to Bree, as the trailer was shown at two of the bigger theaters in UT this week with Eclipse!

To celebrate the trailer's release, Bree is holding an AMAZING contest. Please be sure to visit her site here http://www.breebiesingerdespain.blogspot.com/ to find out more and to enter to win the amazing book prizes she's giving away.

AND you can find out more information about The Lost Saint Cover contest that is being run by our friends, Page Turners. We can not wait for The Lost Saint's release at the end of the year. I'm really excited to meet my character and I'm dying to know what's in store for Jude, Daniel and Grace.

Here's a blurb from Bree (found on Page Turners) for The Lost Saint:
A family destroyed. A love threatened. An enemy returns.
THE LOST SAINT: A DARK DIVINE NOVEL by Bree Despain

“They’re coming for you,” a muffled voice said over the phone. “You’re in danger. You are all in danger.”
“Who is this?” I asked. “What are you talking about?”
“You can’t trust him.” The voice on the phone seemed suddenly clearer— like the hand muffling the receiver had moved out of the way— and the familiarity of it made my heart almost stop. “Please, Gracie, listen to me this time. You’re all in danger. You have to know that—” The voice cut off with a clatter, like the phone had been dropped, and the line went dead.
“Jude!” I shouted into my phone.

Grace Divine made the ultimate sacrifice to cure Daniel Kalbi. She was infected with the werewolf curse while trying to save him, and lost her beloved brother in the process. When Grace receives a haunting phone call from Jude, she knows what she must do. She must become a Hound of Heaven.
Desperate to find Jude, Grace befriends Talbot—a newcomer to town who promises her that he can help her be a hero. But as the two grow closer, the wolf grows in Grace, and her relationship with Daniel is put in danger—in more ways than one.
Unaware of the dark path she is walking, Grace begins to give into the wolf inside of her—not realizing that an enemy has returned and a deadly trap is about to be sprung.
