Blogger Cookbook Blog Tour

Today is the launch of a cookbook we had the opportunity to be apart of called, The 2011 Book Blogger's Cookbook, compiled by Christy Dorrity. We not only have Christy with us today to talk about the book, we also wanted to share a little bit about what this unique cookbook has to offer.

The Book Blogger’s Cookbook has 25 different book reviewers from every corner of the blogosphere. It bridges the gap between author and reader—putting you in touch with book reviewers who can separate the 5 star books from the mediocre.

The Book Blogger’s Cookbook showcases great reads and provides an interactive experience with links to author and book reviewer websites. The cookbook is created for those who like to experience what they read long after they’ve closed the book.

The Book Blogger’s Cookbook tells why each recipe complements its companion book. Recipes and books combine to make the reading experience satisfying and entertaining. (quoted from the book bloggers cookbook site)

I wanted to create a blog where I could combine my loves of food and books. Attaching a recipe to each book review just came as a natural extension of what I love and I soon found cooking a food that complemented the books I read to be extremely fulfilling. When I realized that my first blogoversary was coming up, I decided to compile a recipe book from my blog. When I began forming the idea, I realized that my own reviews looked a bit lonely and I asked some fellow bloggers to participate. I am convinced that book bloggers will continue to become a larger resource for readers and I love connecting readers to book reviewers.

What's one recipe you've seen submitted that you can't wait to make?
All of the recipes in the cookbook came from my experiences with the featured books. I took recipes and tweaked them to make them my own, matching them to my favorite reads for the year. I love all of the recipes included in the cookbook, but right now I would be in the mood for Frozen Hot Chocolate.

Who's your favorite YA author?
Boy that is really a tough one. I'm very impressed with the Hunger Games series and I think that Suzanne Collin's books will be classics. I've been a huge fan of The Dark Divine series by Bree Despain and The Wolves of Mercy Falls series by Maggie Steivfater. It's hard to pin down even a handful. Every author whose book is included in the cookbook is a favorite of mine.

What's one YA book you're looking forward to reading this year?
I look forward to reading Across the Universe by Beth Revis. I am not a huge sci-fi fan but I am liking the crossover books that are cropping up and I am interested to see where Revis takes her novel.

  6. Oh, that sounds so awesome! :) I'm actually really in need of a new cookbook for my mom because she likes to find recipes and eating tips off the Dr. Show & Dr. Oz -- and let me just tell you, healthy foods can only go so far x)

I just finished reading Across the Universe the other day and I thought that it was such a powerful and beautifully created novel! Christy should definitely pick it up! :) Even though I'm not a sci-fi girl either, I actually really enjoyed it!

Thanks so much for the giveaway!
