Infernal Devices 31 Days of Clockwork Prince Celebration: Day 4, Who Said This?


Today's 31 days Clockwork Prince Celebration is a spoiler free teaser from CP, which is taken from the middle of a conversation between two characters.

"I can give you no assurance of what Tessa feels. If you have not noticed, she is a decidedly independent girl. But you have as much a chance to win her love as any man does....."

    The person is talking to Jem! Right? :D Just feels like it... Maybe it's Charlotte talking? Or Henry? Or Jessamine? ....I need to know!

    Magnus to Will? I don't think the person is taking to Jem because I doubt Jem would need 'assurance' as they are so close in CP...
    The sentence structure makes me think masculine for some reason, so maybe...Henry...Perhaps one of the Lightwoods? But I doubt they would know Tessa well enough to call her 'decidedly independent' whereas, we have heard that Magnus becomes quite a big part so he may get to know her better...

    All good guesses. I think it's Will talking to Jem since Will noticed Jem liked Tessa in CA, and since Will likes to pretend he doesn't like Tessa himself.

    Jem said that to Will. Its pretty obvious that he loves Tessa but Will thinks he isn't good enough for her and he is haunted by his past and wants to deal with it alone so he keeps pushing Tessa away.

    I think it's Magnus talking to Will, or someone to Jem. Yeah, sounds more likely it'd be someone talking to Jem. But who is that someone? Hmm, maybe Charlotte?

    Hmm I think they are talking to Jem but it sounds like a more mature person talking so perhaps magnus or Charolotte

    Definitely think it's Magnus to Will, since Magnus and Will seem to get closer in CP. I don't think Will would openly admit his feelings about Tessa to anyone else.

    I think it's Sophie talking to Jem.

    I don't think it's Magnus or Charlotte because I feel like they would have said "independant Downworlder" instead of "independent girl."

    Maybe it's even Jessamine. Because she's the most independent woman in the series, I guess. And I totally hope she's talking to Jem!

    I think this is either Jem to Will referring to the fact that Will seems to think he isn't good enough for Tessa. Or, it could be Will talking to Jem referring to the fact that Jem thinks he doesn't deserve Tessa because he's sick.
