5 stars- I loved it

Enter a world of fierce wolves, stunning magic and romance...

In the war between the Daylight and the Midnight Covens, Caia knows she must make a choice. In their bid for victory in war, both Midnight and Daylight have committed atrocities, and Caia needs to gain a foothold of power in the upper echelons of the fight if she is to stop the extremists.

Not only does she have Marita, the Head of the Daylight Coven, to contend with, but a mysterious vampyre who has orchestrated battles from the shadows of the war for many years. He is old. He is powerful. He is nigh un-killable… and there is only one thing he wants: for Caia to end the war his way.

When tragedy strikes, Caia must decide whether to answer to him and become the extremist she was trying to destroy, or defy the vampyre…
And bring them all down on her own terms (quoted from Goodreads).

Blood Solstice is a fantastic way to end this series. Talk about action! This book is chalked full of it, along with some great character twists, the plot thickens as Samantha Young reveals some things I didn't even see coming.

Caia really grows into her own in this book and she is a force to be reckoned with. I admired her strength. Her butt kicking skills and protectiveness of those she loves fuels her supernatural power, but will it be enough for her end the war? Blood Solstice's war sees it's share of victories, heartache and much more. This is by far the darkest of the three books, and the most emotionally charged. The action is what kept me glued to the pages, I had to know what was going to happen next. I've really loved the rich lore and history Samantha has created with her series, and I liked the manner in which she explains the series history and the history of the war. She totally shocked me with of the character twists.

Blood Solstice is one heck of a series ending! Full of action, twists, and an emotional engaging roller coaster of a ride, Blood Solstice is a must read. This is one book that will appeal to both YA and adult fans. With it's fabulous cast of paranormal characters, there's a little something for everyone. I highly recommend picking up the rest of books in the Lunarmorte Series. You can read my 5 star reviews here. There is some mind language and some well written sensual scenes, which I think are tastefully done and fit well with a series who's characters have grown up of course the of the series. The ending gives me hope their may be more that will come from this great cast of characters.

Mundane Monday #81

Happy Monday!! I hope you all had a great Easter and Weekend. Our forums are open again! YAY. We missed chatting with everyone, but it was nice spending the weekend with our families.

This Mundane Monday is courtesy of all the comments and questions we received during our chat with Cassie on Thursday. Prior to the chat starting the mango comment came up, and during the chat (we weren't able to post the comments) a lot of people were asking about the mango. Here's part of "the mango scene".

"That," said Jace, "and I'm not really familiar with what they sell in mundane grocery stores. Maryse usually cooks or we order in food." He shrugged, and picked up a piece of the fruit at random. "What's this?"

"That's a mango." Simon stared at Jace. Sometimes it really was like Shadowhunters were from an alien planet.

"I don't think I've ever seen one of those that wasn't already cut up." Jace mused. "I like mangoes."
