Clockwork Angel Read Along Day 5: Chapter 4, We Are Shadows

Welcome! It's day 5 of our Clockwork Angel Read Along! Please be sure to visit our linkhere for our schedule, guidelines and to fill out the form to be entered to win some fabulous prizes.

Today's discussion is about Chapter 4. We've given a reason why the Magister may have wanted to marry to Tessa. A few familiar TMI series names are mentioned, Magnus Bane & Ragnor Fell. Tessa's brother is still missing, we meet Thomas and Agatha, and Will and Tessa have some fabulous chemistry.

* When Will mentions the room he found in the Dark Sisters home decorated for a wedding ceremony, Charlotte mentions that a wedding ceremony is a powerful thing and would allow the Magister to access and control Tessa's abilities. The first time I read this, I couldn't help but wonder if this "Magister" only wants Tessa for abilities and if he's someone close to Tessa. Not many people know about her, or her powers. Tessa didn't even know what she could do until she came to London. Did you think something similar to this? Who do you think the Magister could be?

* We have now met Thomas, Sophie & Agatha, whom not only live in the institute, but they serve the Shadowhunters. I know that during this time period it wasn't out of the ordinary to have servants, but I'm surprised that with living in a world full of secrecy that the Shadowhunters would even have them. Did you think the same thing? Do you think there's more to Thomas, Sophie & Agatha than just being servants?

* One of my favorite scenes from this chapter is when Will and Tessa call each other by their first name. Clearly these two have a chemistry that is going to get better and better as the series goes along. They have that great character tension that makes me want to keep reading to know what happens between them. What are you excepting, if anything, to happen between the two of them as the story continues?

This has nothing to do with books, but being the huge sport fanatics we are I have to include this in my post...
The Rangers are going to the WORLD SERIES! They beat the Tigers 15-5 last night to clinch the West Division Champions Title. That win more than made up for the lose of my beloved Longhorns. Okay now book talk....
