Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all you amazing women out there who's actions and examples make a difference in the lives of children! You don't need to be a mom to be honored on a day like today, because women who give their all to helping children are truly amazing! You are all wonderful, and we hope you have a wonderful day!

In honor of Mother's Day, I thought it would be fun to Sophie and I list our 5 favorite fictional moms. After all we are moms, and there's something about these 5 fictional moms that we've come to admire.

In no order here are our top 5 favorite fictional Moms:
  1. Charlotte, from The Infernal Devices Series
Though Charlotte hasn't given birth to the Shadowhunters she oversees at the London institute, she's a mother in very sense of what it means to be a mother. Her fierce devotion and protectiveness of Will, Jem, Jessamine and Tessa, whom I might add aren't much younger than she is, is what makes her one of our favorites, and has won our admiration for all she does.

Jocelyn is what each of us Shadowhunter mamas are-fierce mama bears who will do anything to protect our children, even if that means being a bit overly protective and dealing with those repercussions. Sophie & I totally get Jocelyn, and while we may not agree with everything she does, we understand why she does what she does. When it comes down to it, you'll do anything to protect your children.

3. Mrs. Weasley, from The Harry Potter series

Need we say more. Who doesn't love this mother. She knits, she cooks, and she will do ANYTHING for her children. Mrs Weasley is one of those moms you love from the moment you meet her. Sophie has more leverage in adding her to this list, because I'm still reading this series. I am however half way through the series and she's definitely on my list of favorite moms.

Again, this is a series I'm currently reading, but Sophie loves Rachel, the mom from The Gallagher Girls series. She says she is the mom I'll totally get. She does all the things a mom in her position would do, and she's a mom that she totally loves.

5. Cassel's mom, from The Curse Workers series

Cassel's mom is one of those women that makes us so frustrated while we're reading about the things she does, but at the same time we love her for the fact she will do anything for her son. She has the best intentions, but her actions aren't always the best, which is something we can relate to. NOT that would go changing our son's childhood girl friend into a cat or anything *evil laugh* or would we.....

Of course there are many other fabulous fictional mothers we've come to adore, and have enjoyed reading about. These were the ones that stood out in our minds the most. Who is one of your favorite fictional moms?

Happy Birthday Sophie!

It's Sophie's birthday today and I couldn't not make a post. I know she's going to kill me for this, but once she watches her favorite P&P clips with her favorite actor portraying her favorite fictional character I think she'll forgive me. I can't not post about her birthday on here. I will however keep this short and sweet like I promised her I would, much to her protests of me not posting this.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOPHIE! Thank you for all you do. I hope you have a fabulous Birthday and that your real life Mr Darcy makes your birthday/mother's day a memorable one! Hopefully you'll be watching P&P while eating bon bons your favorite scones, and sipping on your favorite cup of tea while in bed. You deserve a day off. Put your feet up today and enjoy your birthday!

The Lake Scene:

The Proposal:

The Marriage:

See Sophie, that wasn't so bad. I gave you some of your favorite P&P moments, and you got both Mr Darcy & Mr Firth. *snickers* I hope you have a fabulous Birthday!
