My Weekly Round Up in the Stacks (IMM #147/ Stacking the Shelves #11

Happy Sunday! Welcome to this week's edition of my weekly round up in the stacks. I am so excited about this week, because a few surprises arrived this week! First I wanted to share a picture of what I've been doing this week. I'm a member of my kid's school's PTA Board, which along with their school's librarian, we run the Scholastic Book Fair. I feel lucky to co-run the book fair with a friend of mine who's also a member of the PTA Board, and has been doing the book fairs for a few years now. Here's a picture of what we've been doing the past two weeks:

We've been eaten, sleeping, and breathing book fair. Needless to say we've had a lot of fun, put in numerous volunteer hours, and sold countless books. In the process we've also got books into various classrooms, helped out our kid's school library, and helped Scholastic, who supports All For Books will be matching every dollar our school donates to this charity. Which is AMAZING! You can read more about the fair and the see the goodies I purchased for it here.

Clockwork Princess Snippet: Will's Love

Cassie posted a sigh worthy teaser yesterday for Clockwork Princess, featuring Will.

Jem always said that Will rushed toward the end of a mission rather than proceeding in a measured manner, and that one must look at the next step on the path ahead, rather than the destination in the distance, or one would never reach one’s goal. Will closed his eyes for a moment. He knew that Jem was right, but it was hard to remember, when the goal that he sought was the girl that he loved.

*sigh* Aw, Will! Seriously, can Tessa just choose herself at the end so that I don't feel the heartbreak of having to do choose between Jem and Will? I'd be up for her choosing Magnus or even Church. haha Magnus would work because they both understand each other on some level, and they would have this great friendship that spans over centuries, and Church, well Church might as well live forever, since we don't really know what has possessed him or what he is. We know he looks like a cat, but he was with the Dark Sisters. I'm just saying...  I've got this whole thing figured so that my heart doesn't break as much as it will IF she has to choose between Will and Jem.

City of Heavenly Fire Teaser: Jace and Jordan

A couple days ago Cassie treated fans to a Jace & Jordan teaser from City of Heavenly Fire. Check out the teaser below.

SPOILERS

“No killing,” Jordan said. “We’re trying to make you feel peaceful, so you don’t go up in flames. Blood, killing, war, those are all non-peaceful things. Isn’t there anything else you like? Rainforests? Chirping birds?”

“Weapons,” said Jace. “I like weapons.”

“I’m starting to think we have a problematic issue of personal philosophy here.”

Jace leaned forward, his palms flat on the ground. “I’m a warrior,” he said. “I was brought up as a warrior. I didn’t have toys, I had weapons. I slept with a wooden sword until I was five. My first books were medieval demonologies with illuminated pages. The first songs I learned were chants to banish demons. I know what brings me peace, and it isn’t sandy beaches or chirping birds in rainforests. I want a weapon in my hand and a strategy to win.”

Jordan looked at him levelly. “So you’re saying that what brings you peace … is war.”

“Now you get it.”

Is it 2014 yet? I can only imagine how this conversation is going to turn out between these two. haha
