Weekly Round Up In The Stacks: BEA

Hello! I'm back from BEA and getting, or at least trying to get back into the swing of things. WOW! What an amazing, unforgettable, crazy fun time I had in NYC/BEA. There was so much I had crammed into the few days I was there. I'll be posting about BEA, the TMI Movie Party, publisher events and other things in a different posts. I have to say my favorite part of BEA was FINALLY meeting so many of the publicists I've worked with for the past 5 years, getting to hanging out with so many blogger friends! You guys do exists LOL Seriously, that was what made this trip so worth it, well that and the TMI party.

I thought I'd post about the books first, since I've had a lot of questions about which books I got, and what I was more excited for. There were a few books I was really hoping to get, but one that I REALLY wanted, and I'm so excited I got the one.....Sarah J Maas's The Crown of Midnight. I can't even tell you guys how excited I am over this book. Here's a few others I was most excited for, which really I hate saying that, because I feel like I'm saying I love one of my kids over the other, when I love them both equally.

Along with Crown of Midnight, are two New Adult/Adult books I am SO excited are being released this year. Captive by A.D. Robertson (you know her best as Andrea Cremer) and Jennifer Armentrout's Frigid (which I've already read and loved). Also The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater and Simone Elkeles's Wild Cards (already read this one too and seriously enjoyed it). I feel like Teardrop and I go back a few months, because it was one I was bummed I missed at TLA. It was even better at TLA, because I met Lauren Kate again and got it signed. I seriously adore her. Speaking of signed, I also met Sarah J Maas! I about died of fangirlness when she signed my book. She is FABULOUS! So is A.D. Robertson and Jennifer Armentrout.

Having Frigid signed goes beyond being a fan girl, because prior to BEA starting, Jennifer Armentrout had a tragedy strike, which required her to leave immediately. Being the person she is, she stayed and signed ALL of the books she was going to sign at BEA. I could not believe that when I heard that. My heart breaks for her, and in the midst of what was going on, she took a moment to do something for fans. It's so incredibly amazing she would do that. Jennifer, our hearts break for you and we're thinking of you!

YA Titles: There are a lot of great YA titles coming out this year. These are a combination of titles I received from publisher functions, and at booths, and some I was handed while visiting with the publicists.

Middle Grade Titles: I seriously LOVE MG reads. There are a few others I received, but my kiddos have already claimed them, and they're in their rooms. I love how excited they got over the books. I'm seriously so excited for Scholastic's new series, Spirt Animals! Brandon Mull is the author for book 1, pictured above, and Maggie Stiefvater is writing book 2. I can't wait!

New Adult / Adult Titles: For those of you who don't know, I started a New Adult/Adult book review site attached to Mundie Moms, called Mundie Moms Guilty Pleasures. I had to branch out a little outside of YA, and I needed a place to post reviews for those. These are are titles I can't wait to feature on that site (more info about that site will be posted soon).

Signed Titles: I'm seriously loving the mixture of YA, NA and A books from BEA. I LOVED sitting next to Cassie helping out at her signing. It was priceless seeing the looks on her fans's faces that haven't met her before.
BEA was a lot of fun. It was great talking to the publishers about the books they're most excited for this year, and what books they've recently read etc. Over all, for being at the convention for little amount I was, because I was in NYC for the first time, I played more than I did attend the convention, though I was at publisher functions which by the way were amazing! Those will be mentioned in my next BEA post.

Thank you to the authors and publishers for these goodies! Huge thank yous to: Simon & Schuster, MacMillan, Scholastic, Disney Hyperion, Spencer Hill Press, Harper Teen, Little Brown, Harlequin Teen, Penguin Teen, Bloomsbury, SOHO, Shadow Mountain Press, Houghton Mifflin, Candlewick, Amazon and Cedar Fort Books.

Did you go to BEA? What goodies did you get? If you didn't go, what goodies did you receive this past week you're looking forward to reading?
