"The Blog Most Likely To.... " / Enter to WIN a copy of The Boy Most Likely To by Huntley Fitzpatrick

Hello and welcome to today's exciting blog post! In celebration of Huntley Fitzpatrick's upcoming release,The Boy Most Likely To, which will be out 8/18/15, we've been invited to take part in the "THE BLOG MOST LIKELY TO...." campaign, hosted by Penguin Random House. We're huge fans of Huntley's previous releases, MY LIFE NEXT DOOR and WHAT I THOUGHT WAS TRUE. I've been invited to not only host a giveaway for an arc of Huntley's anticipated read, but also share what Mundie Moms is "Most Likely To Do....".

Mundie Moms is THE BLOG MOST LIKELY TO Approve Adults Reading YA Books. We love YA! Back before it was "cool" to read YA, we were reading it. It's almost comical now to look back on the last few years that Mundie Moms has been around, and think about all the flack we took from those who just didn't get it when it came to reading YA. This was right before reading YA grew into what it is now. Not that we cared what others said. We didn't. We loved what we were reading (and still do), and loved supporting our friends who were writing the books we were reading.

Reading YA is a state of mind.

We wish we had a variety of YA books to read back when we were teens. We love the diverse selection of YA books that are available now days. It's funny how some adults can't get passed the YA label. YA doesn't mean it's just for teens. Sure it's written for teens, but there's a lot adults can get out of a YA book. On an adult note, being that we are moms, means we read the books our kids are reading. It's a great way for us to connect with our kids, and fuel their love of reading, as well as our own. It gives us another thing to talk to our kids about.

Being An Adult Is Overrated

ALL the cool kids are reading YA. Why aren't you? We strongly recommend and are huge supporters of reading YA. Sure, we read books on the other side of our YA books, but our true love lies with YA books. Let's face it, being an adult isn't all it's cracked up to be all the time. Sometimes we wish we could go back and tell our teen self to just chill and enjoy being a teenager vs wanting to grow up and be an adult so quickly. Reading YA gives us that escape we need from the mundane tasks adults have to do.

Moms Know Best

Okay, sometimes we know best. Well often times we know best from our own experiences, but that doesn't mean we're always right. YES I just said Moms aren't always right. Just don't tell our moms I said that, or your own mom that I just said. However, we are RIGHT when we say READ YA! We fully support reading YA books. Trust us, we're moms, we know what we're talking about when it comes to reading YA.

A surprising, utterly romantic companion to My Life Next Door—great for fans of Sarah Dessen and Jenny Han

Tim Mason was The Boy Most Likely To find the liquor cabinet blindfolded, need a liver transplant, and drive his car into a house

Alice Garrett was The Girl Most Likely To . . . well, not date her little brother’s baggage-burdened best friend, for starters.

For Tim, it wouldn’t be smart to fall for Alice. For Alice, nothing could be scarier than falling for Tim. But Tim has never been known for making the smart choice, and Alice is starting to wonder if the “smart” choice is always the right one. When these two crash into each other, they crash hard.

Then the unexpected consequences of Tim’s wild days come back to shock him. He finds himself in a situation that isn’t all it appears to be, that he never could have predicted . . . but maybe should have.

And Alice is caught in the middle.

Told in Tim’s and Alice’s distinctive, disarming, entirely compelling voices, this novel is for readers of The Spectacular NowNick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, and Paper Towns
