Blogger Con #BEA16

If you're at BEA today, stop by today's Blogger Con. There is a lot of great panels and round tables happening today. This afternoon starting at 1 pm, Lexxie and I will be discussing Balancing Personal Life with Blogging / Online Life. I promise it will be fun! We'll share ideas, and we look forward to getting ideas from those in attendance. I love Round Table style events like this, because everyone gets to talk. We both brought chocolate too. Only her chocolate is going to be amazing, because she brought it with her from Switzerland. We're going to be so much fun, and we look forward to seeing you this afternoon! Get all the Blogger Con details here!

THE ROSE & THE DAGGER by Renee Ahdieh / Blog Tour: Character Playlist

Hello and welcome to today's stop for THE ROSE & THE DAGGER blog tour, hosted by Penguin Teen. I LOVED this book! You can read my review here. Today I'm thrilled to share a guest post from, featuring Tariq's playlist. Check it out below! I've linked each of the videos below as well. Please click on the bolded link to check out the video.

CHARACTER PLAYLIST (Tariq)

Burn it Down by AWOLNATION because that’s exactly what Tariq always wants to do.

Everything in its Right Place by Radiohead because that’s what Tariq’s been trying to fix throughout this story.

Where Are U Now by Diplo, Skrillex, and Justin Bieber because it’s a song about a boy who gave his love freely and lost it inexplicably.

How Deep is Your Love by Calvin Harris because it encapsulates Tariq’s feelings for Shazi so well.

Kolaveri Di by Dhanush because it constantly questions why guys chase after girls who don’t want them.

Really Love by D’Angelo because Tariq needs to hear this song.

What is Love by V. Bozeman because—again—I just really feel like Tariq needs to understand what love truly is.

The One that Got Away by The Civil Wars because . . . wow, I should really stop being so mean to poor Tariq! :-P

The Best Deceptions by Dashboard Confessional because it’s a great break-up song.

In a land on the brink of war, Shahrzad has been torn from the love of her husband Khalid, the Caliph of Khorasan. She once believed him a monster, but his secrets revealed a man tormented by guilt and a powerful curse—one that might keep them apart forever. Reunited with her family, who have taken refuge with enemies of Khalid, and Tariq, her childhood sweetheart, she should be happy. But Tariq now commands forces set on destroying Khalid's empire. Shahrzad is almost a prisoner caught between loyalties to people she loves. But she refuses to be a pawn and devises a plan.

While her father, Jahandar, continues to play with magical forces he doesn't yet understand, Shahrzad tries to uncover powers that may lie dormant within her. With the help of a tattered old carpet and a tempestuous but sage young man, Shahrzad will attempt to break the curse and reunite with her one true love.

Every generation on the island of Fennbirn, a set of triplets is born: three queens, all equal heirs to the crown and each possessor of a coveted magic. Mirabella is a fierce elemental, able to spark hungry flames or vicious storms at the snap of her fingers. Katharine is a poisoner, one who can ingest the deadliest poisons without so much as a stomachache. Arsinoe, a naturalist, is said to have the ability to bloom the reddest rose and control the fiercest of lions.

But becoming the Queen Crowned isn’t solely a matter of royal birth. Each sister has to fight for it. And it’s not just a game of win or lose…it’s life or death. The night the sisters turn sixteen, the battle begins. The last queen standing gets the crown.

If only it was that simple. Katharine is unable to tolerate the weakest poison, and Arsinoe, no matter how hard she tries, can’t make even a weed grow. The two queens have been shamefully faking their powers, taking care to keep each other, the island, and their powerful sister Mirabella none the wiser. But with alliances being formed, betrayals taking shape, and ruthless revenge haunting the queens’ every move, one thing is certain: the last queen standing might not be the strongest…but she may be the darkest.

Kendare Blake has a new book coming out, and I can not wait to read it! This book sounds so good! Which book are you looking forward to reading?
