As two lethal elemental gods set out to destroy Mytica, sworn enemies must become allies in the final fight to save the kingdoms.

Jonas continues to willfully defy his destiny, but the consequences of plotting his own course are drastic. As the fight for Mytica rages on, he must decide just how much more he's willing to sacrifice.

Lucia knows there's something special about her daughter and she'll do anything to protect her, even if that means facing Kyan alone.

Amara is called back home to Kraeshia. Grandma Cortas has her own plans for Mytica's future. She promises Amara power, revenge, and dominance if she agrees to be part of her scheme.

Magnus and Cleo's love will be put to the ultimate test. Dark magic is causing widespread destruction throughout the kingdom. Enemies across the sea are advancing. And unrest is stirring throughout the land. Is their love strong enough to withstand the outside forces tearing them apart?

Oh my book feels! Oh what an ending! This book had me feeling some serious emotions. There is a lot that happens, and storylines that get wrapped up, and just, oh wow... the surprises! What a fantastic read.

FULL REVIEW

The perfect ending for one of my favorite YA series! After that last cliff hanger, I wasn't sure what to except in this book. I was hoping for the best, but excepting Rhodes to throw in a few unsuspecting surprises that would both shock me and leave me in the fetal position. Instead she had me surprised, shocked, and absolutely loving what transpires between a few of my favorite characters.

This series, and especially this book, have no shortage of magic, fighting, snark, betrayal, romance, loyalty, love, loss, heartbreak, revenge and redemption. The character journeys have been exciting, to say the least, to witness as the series has gone on. I feel like some of them have come full circle, and others, while they ended as fitting as possible, left me wanting more from them. I was surprised with the turn of events with a few characters, and loved what transpired between a few others.... aside from Magnus and Cleo, I won't name names for the sake of spoilers.

I'm not sure how Rhodes has mastered the art of intertwining so many different character storylines so successfully. She makes it work effortless, though I imagine it wasn't without great effort on her end. Not only is not confusing in regards to who's point of view you're reading from, their individual storylines don't hinder the over all story arc. All too often multiple storylines end up being a jumbled mess that end up hurting the story more than anything. That's not the case with this series. I love the various points of views, and seeing the entire picture of all that's happening, vs a one sided view.

This book wrapped up this series perfectly for these characters. This was definitely the kind of ending you want when it comes to a series you love, yet don't necessary except because of all the 'what-ifs'. Sure, there are some open ended storylines that could definitely lead to more stories (crossing my fingers that happens), however the over all ending was just as it needed to be. This book was definitely the perfect way to say goodbye to characters I've come to love.
