3 Stars- It was a good read!

Synopsis (from HarperTeen) AJ Ashe may have gotten rid of her vampire stalker and her evil ex-teacher, but things are hardly back to normal. For one thing, she still has to maintain a strict look-but-don't-touch policy with Ryan, her hot ex-boyfriend-turned-stepbrother. For another, she has to learn to control her vampire superpowers—which means more than a few dates with Lex, mind-reading professional vampire trainer and too-sexy-for-his-own-good bad boy. And as if that's not enough, she happens to be the key to her father's plans to take over the world . . . and he'll stop at nothing to get what he wants.

All this and she's still got to plan the prom. Being a teenager is tough, but being a teenage vampire just flat out sucks!

In Love Sucks! the sequel to Bite Me we find AJ and her family living in the same house with Ryan her ex who is now her stepbrother, which causes a lot of tension and crazy mixed feelings between them. Her family of vampires and step family of wizards are trying to protect her pregnant mother from the demons that want to prevent the birth of the baby that will fulfill an ancient prophecy. At the same time AJ and Ryan are trying to forget about each other as a couple and work together to find the powerful Runes before they get into the hands of AJ's evil vampire father. Since AJ also has a problem keeping her mind closed from the evil demons she gets two really hot British vampire trainers to help her and train her. From then on the story gets even more fun and interesting with the introduction of new characters and a love interest that turns AJ's already complicated love life into a love triangle.

Love Sucks! was a great sequel to Bite Me, it was fun and easy to read, full of fast paced action from the beginning and a lot of teenage drama mainly from AJ. The characters, even though in my opinion were not as well developed as I like, were still very entertaining and likable, full of snark that had me laughing a few times and rolling my eyes at others. AJ was a tough and brave but also very girly and extremely confused about her feelings for both of the guys in the story. I kept being reminded of Buffy the Vampire Slayer while reading this book. It was a lot of fun but I only wished that AJ had been able to put all that training to use and see her fight a little bit more, instead we get a lot more wizard action from Ryan and his brothers. Overall I really enjoyed it and definitely recommend it. I'm pretty sure if you love chick lit and/or paranormal you'll enjoy this series which has a great mixture of both plus a new interesting and different twist to the whole vampire world.
