We're the next stop in our River of Time blog tour, and today we excited to have Lisa on the blog. Here's 10 Things You Didn't Know About Lisa:
1) I was a bartender/ski bum after college. The only good part about that was that it led me to writing (I met a friend who had a friend who wrote Harlequin romances; it made it feel possible.) Oh, and I can still make a killer margarita.
2) I’m generous with my laughter; I think most people are funny. I even crack myself up.
3) I have an alter-ego as a travel writer/blogger. www.theworldiscalling.com. I mostly do it so we can get free travel…or write it off on our taxes.
4) I almost got traded for 17 camels. Israel. 1999. Luckily, my cousin said no.
5) I stop at all historical landmarks, much to my family’s chagrin (I always wonder if there’s a novel element just waiting to be discovered)
6) I dance with my hands; the kids love this, especially in the car when we’re near their schools.
7) I don’t camp; Motel 6 is as close as I get to a tent; “wilderness” means no cable.
8) That said, I do know how to fly fish and love being outdoors.
9) I like my feet; really the only part of my body I think is pretty.
10) I don’t write until I have to—they call me Deadline Girl for a reason. Until I’m on deadline, I let the idea percolate…then I write like a banshee.
If you've not yet picked up Waterfall, Cascade and Torrent by Lisa T Bergren, I highly recommend doing so. This is a 5 stars series! You can read my reviews here.

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! You almost got traded for 17 camels?!?!! At least it wasn't like....2 camels or something. That would almost be demeaning ;)

ReplyDeleteThanks for the beyond awesome giveaway! I do think something went wrong when I tried to enter my mailing address, it now only says my street and housenumber, I think...
ReplyDeleteOh, and 17 camels? That's actually a pretty decent amount, my friend almost got traded for 9 ;)
haha, 17 camels is a good deal! Well, you know, comparatively speaking ;o)
ReplyDeleteI'm discovering that bartending somehow makes people writers - a girlfriend is bartending her way through school, and decided she's going to write children's books! Hmm...
Thanks for the giveaway! =)
ReplyDeleteI love historical landmarks as well. I always have to stop and read historical plaques from start to finish and then take a picture of them as well.
Great post! I'm loving this blog tour so far!
ReplyDeleteHow did you almost get traded for the camels??? And why did the person want to buy you (Although I might not want to know that)?

ReplyDeleteRebekah, I'm uncertain of the Middle-Eastern male mindset in the 1990s--maybe he was joking! But he LOOKED serious. Maybe it was his way of complimenting me?? I dunno.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting. I'm trying to get to Itly next summer for an internship. I'd love to visit Siena. Maybe I'll find my own Marcello. ;)
