Infernal Devices Clockwork Prince 31 Day Celebration: Day 5, The Setting

One of the things I LOVE about this series, is the setting. Cassie does such an amazing job at bringing her Victorian setting to life. I've always been fascinated with the 1800's era, and London's Victorian era has always been most intriguing to me. I did a little research on London during the Victorian era and I was shocked to learn that London had a population of about 1 million people at the beginning of the 1800's and by 1901 had more than 6 million. I guess that shouldn't be surprising considering it was one of the largest and more powerful cities in the world at that time. It was the beginning of the industrial revolution and with that came great wealth as well as extreme poverty. There was so much going in London during this time. I've always wondered what it would have been like to a glimpse of the city during this time.

I had wanted to find a few pictures of places or near places in CA and CP, but alas google and I aren't the best of friends and I couldn't find the ones I was looking. I did however find a few pictures of what London looked like in the 1800's.

One of my favorite scenes in CA is when Jem tells Tessa he'd like to take her to his favorite place in all of London. I may have sighed once or twice during their walk together. I don't know about you guys, but I'd happily accompany Jem on a site seeing tour around London. I wouldn't care if that was a walking tour or a tour in which we ride around in a horse drawn carriage. Although it would also be fun to spend the day with Will or accompany Magnus to one the lavish parties he attends, even shopping with Jessamine would be entertaining.

Wouldn't you like to walk arm in arm with Jem along the water front or you know, attend a masquerade ball Will.... I'm a little torn on taking a stroll around the park arm in arm with Jem, attending a masquerade ball with Will or just hanging out with Magnus. If you could spend the day with any one of the CA/CP characters in Victorian era London, who would you want to spend the day with and why?

Mundie Moms Blog Tours: Lemniscate by Jennifer Murgia

I'm really excited about some of our upcoming blog tours that I'm currently working on, and I'm looking for more bloggers to be apart of these tours. Currently I'm looking for 8 bloggers to be apart of our upcoming, Lemniscate by Jennifer Murgia tour. Here's a little bit about the book (which is already out):

For Teagan, these last few months have been heaven on earth- especially now that Garreth, her boyfriend and guardian angel, is earthbound. But perhaps Garreth is becoming a little more human than either of them expected.
Now, Teagan must realize that her world is once again about to shift, as she questions the faith she held in others against those once considered enemies.
In this continuation of Angel Star, Lemniscate will draw you even deeper into the world of dark and light as Teagan realizes the angel who could possibly save them all is the one angel she feared the most (quoted from Goodreads).

This is the sequel to Angel Star, Jennifer's debut book. You can read my review for Leminscate here. Each blogger will receive a copy of the book and once sign ups are complete, I'll be contacting everyone to discuss the tour and the tour schedule, which will be a mix of interviews, reviews and guest posts. If you'd like to be apart of this tour, which will run from December 9th-17th, please fill out the form below (you must be in the US to receive a copy of the book, but international bloggers are be apart of the tour via guest posts & author interviews).

Sign ups are now closed & I'll be contacting the 8 bloggers shortly. If you are not chosen, don't worry, we have more tours coming up!!

I'm going to be posting more information about our blog tour and how to take part of them shortly. In the mean time, please visit our Mundie Moms Blog Tours page to check out our past tours, and see what upcoming tours we're working on now.
