PHOENIX (Black City #2) by Elizabeth Richards COVER REVEAL / Giveaway

It's HERE!! I am so excited to be apart of today's PHOENIX cover reveal! Earlier today I posted a few teasers leading up to the reveal here, and now I get to share THIS with you guys!

What do you guys think? I LOVE this cover! It looks absolutely stunning. I can not wait to dive into this book. If you haven't read Black City yet, you can check out my interview with Elizabeth here.

Published by: G.P. Putnam's Sons / Penguin
To Be Released on: June 2013
The much anticipated second book in the enthralling Black City series.

Engaged to be married, Ash and Natalie are just starting to build a life together, when things in the United Sentry States go from bad to worse. Ash and Natalie find themselves at the center of the turmoil when dictator Purian Rose threatens Natalie’s life unless Ash votes in favor of Rose’s law—a law that will send Darklings and other dissenters to a deadly concentration camp known as the Tenth.

Ash can’t bring himself to trade Natalie’s life for those of millions of Darklings. The only way to save everyone is to escape Black City and find the Ora, a powerful weapon that could take down Purian Rose for good. But fleeing the city and finding this weapon is easier said than done, if it even exists, and becomes a quest that could tear Ash and Natalie apart, even pushing them into the arms of others.

Fast-paced and absorbing, Phoenix is a delicious, steamy can’t-put-down read.

Elizabeth Richards is an award-winning journalist, who spent her early career reviewing videogames before making the bold (or crazy) move into travel writing, despite suffering from terrible travel sickness. In her spare time, she ran a successful lifestyle website aimed at teenage girls, where she got to interview many of her favourite bands, go to gigs and basically blag loads of free swag all in the name of ‘research’.

Elizabeth lives in Buckinghamshire, England, with her husband. Black City is her debut novel.

Blog Tour: Drain You by M. Beth Bloom

Welcome to the launch of M. Beth Bloom's DRAIN YOU blog tour! Today I'm excited to share with you some information about the book, and tell you about the blog tour giveaway! First, here's a little about DRAIN YOU:

Summer. The 90s. The rich, sun-bleached neighborhoods of the Los Angeles canyons. Enter Quinlan Lacey, a cool, bored, sarcastic, sexy 17-year old with a dull part-time video store job and a mild case of teen ennui. That is, until she meets the alluring, River Phoenix-esque James, and realizes the hills are alive with the undead. Inspired more by the early, dry L.A. short stories of Bret Easton Ellis than the current crop of serialized vampire fiction, the supernatural grunge romance, Drain You, narrates the headaches and heartbreaks Quinn undergoes in her quest to stay sane and cool and in love and alive.

Here's what Publisher's Weekly said about Drain You: "Bloom debuts with a languid, stylish novel that reads like a love letter to cult vampire flicks like The Lost Boys, the work of Francesca Lia Block, and Southern California in the 1990s."

About the Author:

Bloom's first short story “Love And Other Catastrophes: A Mix Tape” was featured in Story Quarterly and selected by Dave Eggers for inclusion in The Best American Nonrequired Reading: 2003 (Houghton-Mifflin), which he curates annually. Bloom is the founder of underground dance label 100% Silk (profiled here in LA Weekly) AND the producer/lead singer of the band LA Vampires (written up in The Guardian as well as Pitchfork and Fader). Her next book will be published through HarperTeen.

TMI Movie News: Set Pictures / A Little Actor Q&A on Twitter

Happy Friday! Yes, yes it is a Happy Friday when you can wake up and see a picture of Magnus (Godfrey) isn't it. Last night Cassie treated fans to THIS.....

Per Cassie: SET PHOTO: So enough about Kevin and Godfrey – the true bromance of the Mortal Instruments set is Godfrey and SIDEBURNS GUY!

(This is not Godfrey in his Magnus costume, just in regular clothes on the set. He still looks ridiculously handsome of course. And Sideburns Guy is also stunning. I don’t just say that because he kindly brought me tea one day.)
*************

If that wasn't enough excitement, last night I retweeted a series of tweets that Alec aka Kevin Zegers was tweeting with fans. While on a train Kevin graciously took the time to interact with fans and answered questions about the TMI movie and a variety of other questions. Here's what he tweeted last night:

I seriously love this cast and crew for taking the time they do to interact with fans. I know their schedules are insanely crazy, and I don't think they'll ever realize what their moments like this mean to fans.

I rub my eyes. “It’s rude to watch someone sleeping, you know?”
“I was bored and you talk in your sleep,” Elijah says.
I blush, wondering what I’d said.
“Don’t worry, it wasn’t anything rude, unfortunately for me,” he says.
