Blog Tour: Through The Even Night by Veronica Rossi (Author Interview / Giveaway)

I am so excited about today's blog tour! Not only do I get to share with you a little bit about my newest love, Through The Ever Night, but author Veronica Rossi is on the blog today!! First, let me share with you a little bit about this book. *sigh* Yes, it's that good! I didn't think Veronica could top what she did with her debut, but boy was I wrong!!

It's been months since Aria last saw Perry. Months since Perry was named Blood Lord of the Tides, and Aria was charged with an impossible mission. Now, finally, they are about to be reunited. But their reunion is far from perfect. The Tides don't take kindly to Aria, a former Dweller. And with the worsening Aether storms threatening the tribe's precarious existence, Aria begins to fear that leaving Perry behind might be the only way to save them both.

Threatened by false friends, hidden enemies, and powerful temptations, Aria and Perry wonder, Can their love survive through the ever night?

In this second book in her spellbinding Under the Never Sky trilogy, Veronica Rossi combines fantasy and dystopian elements to create a captivating love story as perilous as it is unforgettable

Welcome back to Mundie Moms Veronica! We LOVED reading Through the Ever Night. Did you find it more challenging or easier writing a sequel compared to writing a debut novel?

It was very much harder for me. When I wrote UNDER THE NEVER SKY, I wasn't on deadlines. I was very motivated to work on it, but I didn't have any pressure to do so. It was just an adjustment I needed to make. Now that I have written a book on deadlines, that pressure has lessened dramatically. It's no longer a big unknown for me; I know I can do it. Writing books isn't "just for me," the way it was with UNDER THE NEVER SKY, but it's incredibly satisfying and very fun. I love my job!

We're a little divided on which guy we like more. What's one of things you've come to admire about both Roar and Perry?

Oh, for Peregrine I'd say it's his sense of duty. He has such a rough exterior, but he has the biggest heart. He's such a decent guy who's had a hard life. And for Roar... I'd say it's his sense of humor. He has a great outlook on life.

To me, Aria is a character who grows tougher and more resilient with each book. What do you feel is one of her biggest strengths?

She's resilient. Aria is this very elegant girl, but she's tough as nails. It's an inner strength... you don't see her laying down the hurt on people a lot, but when she needs to act, she's a viper. She's also the bravest character in the series. No question about it.

Which character have you had the most fun writing/getting to know?

This is so impossible for me to answer! I've loved all of them. Even the smallest side characters! There is a dog in THROUGH THE EVER NIGHT, Flea, and I even adored writing him!

I'm not sure which I like more, your writing, your world building, your romance or the danger that always seems to accompany your characters. Which element has been the most fun for you to write about?

As a reader, I really love stories that feel balanced, and juggle all of the aspects you mentioned above equally. For me, that is the fun part. It's weaving frie ndship and love, betrayal and honor, quiet moments and earth-shattering ones. It's all the great contrasts... it's the range of human experience that I love.

If you could include one of your favorite fictional characters into Aria and Perry's world, who would you include and why?

I think Aria and Laini Taylor's Karou would get along great, and poor Aria is always saddled with a bunch of boys. She could use a very cool, badass blue-haired friend :)

Have you read anything recently that you'd recommend we go pick up?

Well, I've been on a big non-fiction binge, as I do research for my next project, so I haven't been reading as much YA as usual. I will say that Warm Bodies is excellent. I wanted to read it before the movie comes out, and I'm so glad I did. It's really outstanding.

Thank you!!

You are so welcome! And thank you!
