Cassie's Latest News: Clockwork Princess News

There's been a lot of exciting news surrounding the upcoming release on Clockwork Princess. Here's a collection of things Cassie has recently posted about Clockwork Princess on tumblr.

Cassie gave us an update on when the 1st chapter for Clockwork Princess would be revealed:

ETA: “Where is the reveal going to take place?”
On the www.shadowhunters.com website. I’ll give you the link when it’s up and you can watch as the chapter gets revealed.
A message from Simon and Schuster:
You’re only a few weeks away from reading Clockwork Princess, the thrilling conclusion to The Infernal Devices trilogy. The cover has been revealed thanks to your help, you’ve watched the trailer, you’ve read the Prologue available in the Shadowhunters App, but still you want more! Well, you’re in luck, and once again, you have the power! Will, Jem, Tessa, and Charlotte – their story continues in the first chapter of Clockwork Princess, but the text will only reveal itself for those who believe…and those who tweet! Every time you send a tweet with the hashtag #ClockworkPrincess, the chapter will make its way into our realm and one by one, the words will be revealed. Are you up for the challenge?“
The chapter reveal is planned to start Tuesday, February 26, at 2pm Eastern (New York) Time. As people tweet the hashtag #clockworkprincess, the chapter will reveal itself word by word by word … — so get ready to start tweeting in 4 days!

Cassie also recently posted a Q&A about the Clockwork Princess book trailer, which was featured this past week on EW.com

ETA: (Edited to add)
Who is the hot asian guy in the Clockwork Princess trailer playing Jem? — scarletbane
I don’t know! I don’t know any of the actors’ names, or what the music is. I actually know less about this book traiiler than I do about the CoB movie. ETA: here’s an interview with Charles Haine from Dirty Robber where he talks about the actors and the music, thanks Cat for the link!
“Hi Cassie. You wrote the dialogue for the Clockwork Princess trailer right? No wonder it’s very heart-breaking. Did you also write them for the previous trailers too? — ni-hen-piao-liang-wo-ai-ni-jem”
I wrote the voiceovers for the last three — the Clockwork Prince trailer, the City of Lost Souls trailer, and this one. Generally I write a voiceover and turn it over to Dirty Robber, and they create visuals around it. I don’t know what it’ll look like till it’s done. I didn’t know the City of Lost Souls was going to be as metal as it turned out to be until they finished it. :)
“whose heart would die with him” :”( wills gonna die — allisinfinite
“Whose heart would die with him” — well it could mean physical death, but it could also mean emotional death. Jem dies, what’s good about Will dies too, or so thinks Charlotte in CP.
Dear Cassie, I just saw Clockwork Princess’ book trailer and I have a question Why is Tessa wearing a bloody dress? Is someone going to die? I don’t want to know who, just if someone is going to die… Love your books SO MUCH. — moobsessed
Characters do die. I am not going to expound on the bloody dress too much, but it’s not her blood!
Does Will just magically have a wand in the trailer or is it supposed to be a weapon of some sort? — katiehorsie
When I was growing up the idea that you would spin around and point a wand at someone like a weapon would have been totes bizarre. Harry Potter has changed many things! — although not the fact that there are no wands in the Shadowhunter books. Not even warlocks use them. Will is holding a dagger.
I don’t know if u’ve been asked this b4..but i was wondering if you had a specific cast in ur mind ‘if’ there was an Infernal Devices Movie. I think Ian Somerhalder is best to play Will…. — spazzingoveru
I decided after actually watching TMI get cast that fancasting was a terrible idea for me and I wouldn’t ever do it again. The likelihood that whoever fans light on as their likely favorite will get cast is vanishingly small (in some ways, fans wanting a particular actor cast can make that actor’s chances worse, not better) and it creates a disconnect between the way the character is described and the way a particular actor looks. Not to say I mind anyone else fancasting, have at it, I just think as the author it’s best if I don’t have any favorites. Ian Somerhalder is cute, sure, and the same age as my husband so I don’t even feel creepy saying so.
“Today I read an article on the author Emily Bronte, and I noticed that she had two siblings named Charlotte and Branwell. Was this perhaps the inspiration you had for your character’s name? — galeactuallysmiling”
Unrelated to the trailer, but yes, it was. The Bronte siblings were fascinating — they lived basically isolated lives, Emily, Anne, Charlotte and Branwell, in Yorkshire. As children, they invented two fictional countries, Angria and Gondal, and told stories about them, populated them with characters, had them fight wars — quite a lot of their juvenilia is preserved and can be read today.
Anne, Emily and Charlotte went on to write famous novels. Branwell gambled himself into bankruptcy and finally drank himself to death. He is in part the model for Nate.
Hey Cassandra!  5 weeks ago I preordered clockwork princess and I was told I was 31st on the list!!! I wonder how long the list is now? The bookstore had to put up a sign underneath clockwork prince saying that princess was coming and to please stop asking about it! <3 font="" sugarcubesandpansycakes="">
Aw, I wish I had a picture of that! I am so glad people are excited for the next book. Thanks for telling me.
Just in cased you missed the trailer premiere, here's a few images that Cassie reposted on tumblr.

Speaking of Cassie and CP2, she also posted some fun facts about the trailer.

They’ve got the Clockwork Princess trailer up over at Entertainment Weekly! And a few extra things to say:
If Sebastian were responsible for long bus rides I wouldnt’ be surprsed…
