Blog Tour (Book Review / Giveaway) : Wait For You by J. Lynn

I'm thrilled to be the next stop in the Wait for You blog tour, J. Lynn's newest New Adult release. This is one of those books that I've found myself reading, and then re-reading it again not long after I first read it. I'm excited I finally get to share my review with you. Let me just throw out a little caution. This is a New Adult book. It is NOT a YA book. Normally all of our NA and Adult book reviews are found HERE (this site is not intended for those under 18), but with so many older YA fans who love Jennifer Armentrout's books, I had to share my review on here as well.

Here's a little bit about the book.

By: J.Lynn
Released on: March 5th, 2013
5 Stars: I LOVED It!

Some things are worth waiting for…
Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.

Some things are worth experiencing…
Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

Some things should never be kept quiet…
But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she’s has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?

And some things are worth fighting for…

*************

For the love of all things Cam, this book deserves more than 5 stars!

J. Lynn has done it again. She's written another fabulous story and given me another character of hers to fall in love with. Let me back up and say, I'm not a huge New Adult fan. I've not been impressed with really any of the books I've read so far, but this book totally blew me away. Not that I was surprised by that, because I love Jennifer/J. Lynn's writing style. She has this knack for writing these incredible relatable characters and well when it comes to her Adult and New Adult books, incredibly hot character chemistry. What I was not excepting to find in Wait For You was Cam! This is one character that I wish could walk right out of the pages, and not for all the reasons you're thinking *coughs* He really is the kind of guy you wish you had as a friend, and well something more. I loved him for how he treats Avery.

Avery is a character that intrigued me. She is so broken, and it's heartbreaking to see her try to pick up the pieces and carry on, but she does. In the beginning it was obvious that something horrible happened to her, to make her act the way she does. Okay, really horrible doesn't even begin to describe what she dwelt with. The more the story went on, the more I wanted to get to know her, and find out what happened. I wanted to try and help her. Seriously, this girl needed someone to give her what she's never really had, love, companionship and someone to rely on. Enter Cam, the say it how it is, hot soccer star that everyone and their friend drools over. Cam isn't just hot body and no brain. This guy is in a league all his own. Like me, he too was on a mission to get to know Avery, but on a much different level.

When it comes to Cam and Avery, that just say these two have some serious hot character chemistry. They can both dish it to each other, and really get each other going.  I loved how stubborn, and feisty Avery is, especially when it comes to Cam. She has her guard up, and with good reason, but man, Cam sure knows how to make her slowly but surly put it down, at least for him. The thing I had an issue with is even after things happen between Cam and Avery, she still does something that to me, really irked me. Like it made me not like her character that much and I started to get really annoyed with to the point I kept reading the book because of Cam. But, something happens, and Avery finally grows up. She realizes a few things, that I won't say for the sake of spoilers, but she surprised when she finally took action and saw her errors. It's during this time I realized what a relatable character she is, and I couldn't help but like her a bit more.

For the love of everything that's Cam! I rarely fan girl in my reviews, but I am going to fan girl over Cam's character, because he is my new favorite Jennifer/J. Lynn character. Those that know me, know that I'm not saying that lightly. I loved that Cam was a whole lot more than hotness on two legs. He is smart, he's honest, he doesn't sugar coat anything, and he goes after what he wants. He's also so stinkin' sweet, and respectable. Like, really, really respectable, and I couldn't help but fall in love with him. He treats Avery in such a way that not only had her and her friend's sighing, it left me sighing. Did I mention he bakes and can cook? I think I've started liking eggs again.... if you've read the book you'll know what I'm talking about.

Cam is the kind of guy who patiently waits for the right moment to break down all of a Avery's barriers while slowly but surely sweeping her off her feet at the same time. While he's patiently waiting for her to open up to him, and let him in, he does all these little things that make him apart of Avery's life without making her feel like he's invading her life. Not only does this make her slowly, but surely realize Cam is someone she can rely on, trust and fall in love with, but it's exactly what Avery needed. See was I mean!?! Cam is that guy! That guy you wish you had at some point in your life, or you have now and hold onto him for dear life, because everything he does is for his girl.

Now that I've rambled on about this book, let just say there are some fabulously written characters in this book who made me laugh, not that silent laugh, but a snort laugh and a loud laugh. Cam and Avery have some amazing friends and I loved feeling like I was getting a peek into their lives while reading Wait For You! This is one of those books that has it all. Friendships, love, hot character chemistry, plenty of humor, sweet moments, heart breaking moments, and moments that will leave you sighing. This book is so much more than just the hot chemistry and well yes the few sex scenes, which I will say were tastefully written. This book has it all, and it's one I'd recommend to mature readers who are looking for something outside of the YA shelves.
