Since the night of her seventeenth birthday, Skye has been torn between two opposites: Light and Dark, the Order and the Rebellion, Devin and Asher.
But her decision shocked both sides—because she chose neither.
With the help of her friends, Skye forges her own path, setting out to gather an uprising of Rogues. The treacherous and elusive half-angels may be the key to maintaining the balance of fate and free will. But completing the mission her parents left unfinished is more difficult—and dangerous—than she could have imagined. And doing so comes at a cost: Her greatest love may now be a lethal enemy. Because it’s not just the Order that sees her as a threat who must be eliminated. The Rebellion does, too.
And both sides will do whatever it takes to win.
Dark days lie ahead, and if Skye is to survive, she’ll need to rely on her extraordinary powers and the strength of her will. Because she has a future—and a love—that’s worth fighting for.
The sweeping, darkly romantic story that began with A Beautiful Dark and gathered intensity in A Fractured Light comes to a thrilling conclusion in A Radiant Sky.

Say it isn't so! Another series I've really enjoyed reading is coming to an end (sobs). I know,  I know. All good things come to an end, and it seems as though 2013 is the year that many of my favorite series are ending. This is a series I've been a fan from the very beginning. I got wrapped up with the characters, the dangers of their world, and desperately wanted things to work out with Skye and Asher. A Beautiful Dark hooked me, A Fractured Light left me hanging and fearing for what was about to go down, and A Radiant Sky wrapped up everything perfectly.

A Fractured Light left readers hanging with that huge decision Skye made, and A Radiant Sky opened up with that scene. I'm really impressed with Skye. She became this heroine who no matter what it cost her, broken heart, losing friends, going to war, she stuck with what she felt was right. Jocelyn did a great job at letting the emotions flow with this book. I felt Skye's heartache with her decision making pertaining to her and Asher, her worry and fears over what the future held, her shock with some of the surprising revelations a couple characters make, and her yearning to fulfill the destiny her parents weren't able to do. She's got a lot on her shoulders, and an awesome support group around her.

Aw, Asher and Skye. I love the way their relationship started off and the way it continues to grow. Plus I'm a sucker for their chemistry. Their romance is fabulous, and is something that left me wanting more, and at the same time a little fearful over what would happen to the two of them, given they both stand on opposite sides of the war. Skye has to make a choice. She has to choose the side she's on, and in picking, that means either siding with Asher, or walking away from him forever. If you're a fan of the series, you know Skye sticks to her guns. Her choice costs her and leaves her wondering what side she and Asher are really on, and where that puts them. Skye's main focus is preparing for the looming war ahead.

Though Asher isn't present for some of the story, he's there through Skye's thinking about him, and her memories of their first meeting and such. I know, I wanted more Asher in this book, but trust me, he's there and when he's fully back in the story it's so worth the wait!! I seriously adore Asher. Asher and Skye have something that at times I did wish Devin and Skye could have, but that was before all the stuff he does in the previous book. What Devin does in this book is surprise me. He is another character I came to love. He plays a bigger role in this book than I excepted him too. It's so hard not to love him for all he does for Skye. I never thought Devin would be the kind of character who could redeem himself the way he does in this book, but he does he totally broke my heart.

I love it when family and friends play a huge role in a character's life. Skye has an amazing support system around her. Throughout much of this book she's busy preparing for the big battle, and trying to get loose ends fixed. Though it's hard and she wonders if she's doing the right thing, her family and friends are always there to support her and stand behind her no matter what. I love the role Skye's family and friends have played through out the entire series, but especially in this book. I loved the introduction to a few new characters to the storyline, and seeing how other characters have changed since we first met them. Aunt Jo is still a character I love, and I'm glad she got her happy ending. With that also came the introduction of Earth. I adored this little girl!! She brought a new dynamic to the storyline.

As much as I enjoyed this story I will say I had hoped to have more of a fight scene than the one that took place. Don't get me wrong, things happen, but I wanted a little more action. It was a little bit of a let down for me to build up the war that was going to happen so much, and then when it does happen there isn't much more than a couple casualties, and some confusion. Even then, I predicated at least one of those casualties. Despite that, over all this was a read I totally enjoyed. It's a great series, and I loved how Jocelyn wrapped up Skye's story. It's fitting for her, and those who are in her life. She tied up all the loose ends, and leaves me happy knowing that Skye is in good hands and that's she's going to be just fine. I think if the ending had been any different, it wouldn't have rang true to who Skye is. If you're a fan of this series, I highly recommend picking this book up when it's out tomorrow!

  2. Oh yeah, I love me some action, so it sucks that this one didn't have so much. I'm curious to see how it all ends though. Great review!
