Trust In Me by J.Lynn, Blog Tour; Interview & Giveaway

Welcome to the next stop in William Morrow's TRUST IN ME blog tour. This is a one hour tour stop that is being featured 1st on our MM's Guilty Pleasures Book Review Blog as well as here.

Y'all know what a huge fan of Jennifer's I am. Both her YA and NA books are some of my favorites. I LOVED Wait for You! You can read my review for it here. I have been anxiously awaiting TRUST IN ME's release, which is Cam's point of view of Wait for You.

Hi Jennifer! Congratulations on your book release today. You're new adult/ young adult boys are so fabulously written. It's been hard picking a favorite until Cam came along. What's one your favorite character traits about Cam?
He's a nice guy--a genuine nice guy. That is my favorite trait about Cam. Nice guys are rare.

I'm really looking forward to reading the story from Cam's point of view. What was one your favorite scenes to write from his perspective?
Oh, it's hard to pick one, so I had to say the first time they meet. His impression of her and the private nickname he gave her always makes me smile. I also like the scene where he sees her dancing while he's standing with Jase. He says something in that scene that has Jase choking on his beer.

Okay, I have to ask. Cam and that cookie scene. How much was Cam trying to get a rile out of Avery and how much does he really love those cookies?
Cam does love himself some cookies, but I think he was overdoing it a bit. After all, I've never ate a cookie that had me moaning. I think he likes to see Avery blush.

What's something you want to tell fans about Cam that we don't get to see from the book?
Cam isn't the perfect baker. There are many, many times where he tries his hands a different cookies and it doesn't turn out well. I'd say he's got about a 50/50 chance of producing something edible.

Both Wait for You and Trust in Me have great characters in them. Outside of Cam and Avery, which of their friends did you have the most fun writing?
I think Jase was really fun to write in Trust In Me. Having him interact with Cam was a great way of showing off some of his personality. Jacob would have to be a close second.

**************

I can't wait to read Jase's story! Thank you Jennifer for stopping by Mundie Moms / MM' Guilty Pleasure Book Review blogs today,

About The Book

A gift?

A curse?

A moment that changes everything. . . .

Caught in an unexpected spring squall, Corrine's first instinct is to protect her little sister Sophie after a nasty fall. But when Corrine reaches out to comfort her sister, the exact opposite occurs. Her touch--charged with an otherworldly force and bursting with blinding indigo color--surges violently from Corrine to her sister. In an instant, Sophie is dead. From that moment on, Corrine convinces herself that everyone would be better off if she simply withdrew from life.

When her family abruptly moves to New Orleans, Corrine's withdrawal is made all the easier. No friends. No connections. No chance of hurting anyone. But strange things continue to happen around her in this haunting,  mystical city. And she realizes that her power cannot be ignored, especially when Rennick, a talented local artist with a bad-boy past, suggests another possibility: Corrine might have the touch. An ability to heal those around her. But knowing what happened to her sister, can Corrine trust her gift?

Cassandra Clare Poses For A Lauren Zurchin Studios Calendar: Beyond Words, 2014 Fantasy Calendar

Photographer Lauren Zurchin recently contacted me and told me about her upcoming 2014 Fantasy Calendar (which you can pre-order here for $20), that features Cassandra Clare (see above), and other favorite YA authors like Maggie Stiefvater, Holly Black, Lauren Oliver, Lauren Kate, and more. It's not only cool that we get to see some of our favorite author dressed in killer costumes that Lauren herself made, but ALL the proceeds from the calendar sales go to First Book and Worldbuilders.

Of Cassie's photo shoot, Lauren had this to say:

The initial idea for the look of the photo was to shoot it in the height of autumn, which would have been great, as Cassie lives in New England. But Cassie is in Europe for all of fall, and though we considered me flying over there to shoot it, timing wouldn’t allow. So we worked with what we had, which was literally two days between Cassie getting back from the City of Bones movie premiere and heading overseas. She squeezed me in, and we made it work! I actually think the look of the photo really captures what I wanted, almost better than if everything had been orange or red or yellow. I’m really happy with the result, and so glad Cassie was a part of this project. She even forgave me for burning her a little bit with the metal (those hand flowers get really really hot!), because she’s just that awesome.

Read more about Cassie's photo shoot here, and find out more about the calendar here.
