THE WINNER'S CUSRE by Marie Rutkoski, Blog Tour: Author Guest Post / Giveaway

Hello & Welcome to the third stop for Fierce Reads's THE WINNER'S CURSE blog tour! I'm so thrilled to be apart of this tour, and to have Marie Rutoski on Mundie Moms today. This is a book I've been anxiously awaiting to be released for close to a year now. I read this last year and have been head over heals in love with it since then. Here's a little bit about Marie's upcoming release (you can read my review shortly on Mundie Moms).

Winning what you want may cost you everything you love
As a general’s daughter in a vast empire that revels in war and enslaves those it conquers, seventeen-year-old Kestrel has two choices: she can join the military or get married. But Kestrel has other intentions. One day, she is startled to find a kindred spirit in a young slave up for auction. Arin’s eyes seem to defy everything and everyone. Following her instinct, Kestrel buys him—with unexpected consequences. It’s not long before she has to hide her growing love for Arin. But he, too, has a secret, and Kestrel quickly learns that the price she paid for a fellow human is much higher than she ever could have imagined.
Set in a richly imagined new world, The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski is a story of deadly games where everything is at stake, and the gamble is whether you will keep your head or lose your heart.

I am beyond excited to have Marie on Mundie Moms today. Normally when I have an author guest post spot light on a blog tour, the author selects one option from a variety of guest post topics I send. Today Marie has taken the time to not only send us one guest post topic, but all of them.

  2. Marion Zimmer Bradley, The Mists of Avalon
  3. JD Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye

If The Winner's Curse Was A Movie, I See These Actors Portraying My Characters
You know…I shy away from this question only because I don’t want to impose my idea of what the characters look like on readers. But I would LOVE to know which actors my readers think should play the characters. (Leave us a comment below and let us know who you think would be perfect for a The Winner's Curse movie role).

My 5 Favorite Moments from The Winner's Curse

  26. The cover pulled me in, the synopsis hooked me! I love the idea behind this book. I've heard it has a forbidden romance (which I can't ignore) and will be a great "replacement" once The Grisha series ends

  27. Why? Because when I saw the cover of the book when it first appeared, I thought to myself "This must have a serious cool badass female character. I might want to read it when it comes out." I'm a sucker for books with awesome main characters. When I got the free 1-5 chapter samples, I read it and wanted to it so badly that I never had before.

That is why I want to win. I hope I do.

  41. Because of the love story it promises. Granted, my books don't always have to have a romance for me to fall for them, but, since this book apparently has (Action, right) mostly love, I like my characters to be afraid of it.
Not to know what they feel.
    To deny it...
So, yeah, that's why I want to read this book.

    ReplyDelete

  49. First of all, this cover is beautiful! And then every single review I've read of it talks about how beautifully written it is and how wonderful the story. I'm fascinated to see how these characters progress throughout the story, especially as it begins with one purchasing the other. How will they learn to live around that?

    ReplyDelete
