Top Ten Tuesday: Books I'm Not Sure I Want To Read (Mostly I Do Want to Read Them, I Just Haven't Had The Time To)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

This week's topic is, Books I'm Not Sure I Want To Read. I recently cleaned out my shelves of books I've totally lost interest in reading, so my list is for Books I Do Want To Read, I Just Need More Time to read them.

I have this bad habit of buying books that 1) I can't wait to read and 2) is a book I bought because of all the hype, or a friend mentioned, but now I'm not so sure it will get read 3) Or I received a book to review that sounded great, but I've not had the chance to read it yet. Sadly I have many books that fit under reason 3. I wish I could have a week totally devoted to reading, so that I could get caught up on all the books I want to read. Here are a few books on my list I am planning on reading, but haven't yet because of time (don't judge me):

  • Sapphire Blue - I've been excited about reading this series, but when I received book 2 for review, I went out and bought book 1 to read.  I've not yet started either book because of time, and other previously review commitments.
  • The Selection Series - I have the entire series, and I've heard fabulous things about this series. Now I just need the time to sit and read the entire series.
  • Fangirl - I KNOW, I need to read this one! I started it, but don't have the time to finish it, but I swear I will soon!!!
  • Nantucket Blue - This is a book I bought when it was out at TLA, and sadly I've yet to read it. I even featured it on my list of reads to get through this summer, and yet, I've not had the time *cries*
  • Teardrop - This is another book I bought, because I really enjoyed Lauren Kate's other series, but have yet to have a chance to sit down and read it.
  • Chaos of Stars - I started this book, and had meant to read it and review when it first came out, but got side tracked by other review commitments. I know, that's sad to admit. I adore Kiersten and LOVE her books. This book will be read soon.
  • The Kill Order - I've read The Maze Runner series, but for some reason this book is one that's still sitting on my shelf waiting to be read.
  • The Elemental Series - I NEED to read this book. So many readers have told me how much I will enjoy it, and that they'd love to see it reviewed on Mundie Moms. I have the first 3 books sitting on my shelves, and I am trying to make the time to read it.
  • The Watchers series- Again, this is another series I have the first 3 books from it, but because of time I've not yet had the chance to read it.
  • Outlander - This is an adult book that I started a long time ago, but never finished. It's been sitting on my shelf for a couple years waiting to be read. Now that the book has been made into a tv series, I have to finish this book.
Have you read any of the books on my list? If so, what did you think of them? Do you find yourself having the same problem I do with having way too many books and not enough time to read them all.

  1. I actually didn't like "The Chaos of Stars" at all, despite having liked "Paranormalcy" by the same author.

    1. I know of a few other KW fans who have said the same thing. I hope I'll enjoy it.

  2. I liked Ruby Red, not love or anything, but that ending captured me and I needed book 2 so my husband surprised me and got book 2 and 3, but now I kinda put them off so I think I will marathon it one weekend When I have a chance.
I want to read Tear Drop but reviews have tainted me so maybe at some point I will pick it up, im just not sure.

    1. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who's not read Ruby Red. I'm with you. I want to be able to sit down and read the entire series at the same time. If I don't, I never will.

  3. My list is pretty much the same as yours! Although, I'm glad I read The Chaos of Stars even though I didn't really like it. I read the first page of The Selection and said "nope!"

    1. You've totally made me feel better. I was thinking I was one of the few who hadn't read The Selection or some of these other series. I've heard when it comes to The Selection, you either love it or you don't.

  4. I really liked Ruby Red but for some reason I just have not gotten a hold of Sapphire Blue yet. I have Outlander on my list too. It is just so long!

    1. I am so set on reading Outlander now. It's been on my shelves forever, but like you, it's so stinking huge. I swear if I had all the time in the world I'd read it, and finish reading the Harry Potter series.

    1. YAY! We're FanGirl late bloomers!! I thought I was the only one who hadn't read it. We will totally have to read it at the same time and then discuss it.

  6. I really need to read Fangirl too! It looks great - again, it's so hard to find time to read ALL the books

    1. I swear time is a reader's worst enemy lol There's never enough time to read all the books I want to read.

  7. I enjoyed Ruby Red, but I definitely thought Books #2 (Sapphire Blue) and #3 were subpar and not nearly as enjoyable. Still, I think Ruby Red may be worth the read just for its adventurous spirit.
