I've had the chance to be apart of this festival since it began. It is on TX book festival you do not want to miss!

Here is the formal announcement:

Texas Teen Book Festival will feature YA sensation Lauren Oliver as closing speaker

Author of Delirium Series, Panic

AUSTIN (June 24, 2014)—Wildly popular Young Adult genre author Lauren Oliver, creator of the bestselling Delirium series and Before I Fall, is the second headliner to be announced for the Texas Teen Book Festival, happening Oct. 18 at St. Edward’s University. (YA author James Dashner, writer of the Maze Runner series, was previously announced.)

Oliver’s YA book Panic has been optioned by Universal Pictures in a major movie deal, and her first novel for adults, Rooms, debuts this fall.

“Lauren Oliver has emerged as a true literary talent over the last five years, effortlessly crossing lines between genres as she crafts one thrillingly unique tale after another,” says Meghan Dietsche Goel, children’s and young adult book buyer for BookPeople and program director of the Texas Teen Book Festival. “We are excited to offer readers the chance to spend time with such a rising star.”

Says Heather Schubert, librarian and founder, along with BookPeople, of what was originally called the Austin Teen Book Festival: “Lauren Oliver's popularity grows with each new release! Teens fell in love with the Delirium trilogy and Before I Fall, and are now captivated with the suspense of Panic.  We can’t keep her books on the shelf at the library. She's definitely going to be a huge hit at the Festival.”

Now under the auspices of the Texas Book Festival, the Texas Teen Book Festival is one of the largest gatherings of YA authors and readers in the nation, with more than 40 authors and 4,000 fans attending in 2013 and even more expected this fall.

The Texas Teen Book Festival is presented in conjunction with the Austin Public Library Friends Foundation, BookPeople, and venue sponsor St. Edward’s University.
