Happy Birthday to MMs Founder, Katie B!

The Herondales and Their Girls by mademoisellemaripol

I'd like to caption the above fan art "It's okay, she's a mom!" It's an ongoing joke between Katie and me that if she ever meet one of her fic boyfriends those words would be uttered at some point in their conversation -- it's okay, I'm a mom.

It's Katie B's birthday today and although I'm a little late with this post, there are plenty of hours left before the clock strikes midnight (shhh, I'm in PST zone). What can we say about Katie that you don't already know?

She's a tireless advocate for YA books. She puts so many books into readers hands both literally and virtually through her promotions, reviews and giveaways. She hates banned books. She loves a strong, kickass girl character and a snarky boy character (wait, am I describing the characters pictured above?). She adores action plot lines, but she also loves quieter love stories. But, what she loves the most (aside from her family) is Mundie Moms and the chance to reach out and fangirl with all of you.

This year, I gave her a bracelet that had the words: partner in crime, peas in a pod, perfect pair, birds of a feather, two of a kind, sidekicks inscribed on it. She is my BFF that I met only once in person and yet, I talk to almost every day. She is exactly who she is on social media. She is smart, sassy, stubborn (in the best way), will always, always have your back and on a day when you feel blah, she will make you laugh until you are snort-crying with laughter.

Please join the Mundie Moms admins (Shandra, Emm and myself) in wishing Katie the most fabulous year yet.
