The Shadowhunters TV News: McG Will Be Directing The Opening Episodes of the Series & He's An Executive Producer!

Shadowhunter fans, we have more OFFICIAL news! Shadowhunters TV shared the announcement that Deadline revealed earlier today. McG will be directing episodes from The Shadowhunters TV show! Not only that, he's also an an executive producer for the series!

McG is  set to direct the opening episode of Shadowhunters, the straight-to-series drama based on Cassandra Clare’s YA fantasy book series The Mortal Instruments, which was recently picked up by ABC Family. McG also will executive produce the series, a spinoff of the 2013 feature film The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones, alongside writer-showrunner Ed Decter.

Shadowhunters, from the film’s producer Constantin Film, is slated to go into production in May in Toronto.

The project expands McG’s relationship with ABCF, where he recently directed the single-camera comedy pilot Kevin From Work, which has been picked up to serieswith him executive producing. McG is repped by WME.

This is exciting news! I'm looking forward to seeing what McG brings to the Shadowhunter family. I've got a lot of faith in him. I've been told he's also done some directing for SuperNatural. If that's the case, than he'll do the Shadowhunter series justice. What do you guys think?
