AND I DARKEN by Kiersten White / Cover Reveal via Bustle! #AndIDarken

It's HERE!!!! The cover for Kiersten White's upcoming release, AND I DARKEN was released yesterday on Bustle! I don't know if I'm more excited over the fact that one of my favorite YA authors has a new book coming out, or for this cover! Wow! What a striking cover. Yes, if I knew nothing about Kiersten White, I would totally pick up this book based on the cover alone.

Here's a quote about the book from the publisher, Random House Children's / Delacorte Press:

This sharp, thrilling crossover novel is a
mash-up of Game Of Thrones meets An Ember in the Ashes,”
and is inspired by the historical events behind the real Dracula—
Vlad the Impaler—with a dark, sensual twist:
Vlad is now Princess Lada.

SOLD! I am totally sold on this book! Now all we have to do is impatiently wait for it's release, which is June 28th, 2016.

While we wait for June, and it's glorious warm weather, and this book to be out, head over to Bustle to read their interview with Kiersten. Per their article, here's a little bit more about the book:
And I Darken centers on Lada Dragwyla, a deposed princess who waits for her chance to escape the Ottoman court and return to claim her birthright: the throne of Wallachia. Mehmet, her ally and the Ottoman heir, has sworn his sword against his homeland. Meanwhile, Lada's younger brother, Radu, feels at home with their surrogate family. It's been called a squee-worthy "mash-up of Game Of Thrones meets An Ember in the Ashes," so you know And I Darken will be a tangled triangle of emotions and fates.
If this all sounds the eensiest bit familiar, it's because the Darken trilogy is loosely based on the story of Vlad the Impaler, the man who would later be known as Count Dracula. In And I Darken, however, Vlad Dracul has become Lada Dragwyla, and it examines the atrocities she and others are willing to commit under the name of country, passion, and religion. Trust me, heads will roll.
