Recent YA Book News

Happy Weekend! It was Spring Break this past week for my kids, so I wasn't online as much. Here is some of the bookish news I did catch when I was on.

Have you guys seen the cover for First & Then by Emma Mills? I love this cover. It's a Pride & Prejudice meets Friday Night Lights. I can't wait to read it.

USA Today revealed the cover for Heather Demetrios's BLOOD PASSAGE. Head over to here to read an excerpt, and to find out more about this sequel to Exquisite Captive!

Check out the cover for the third book in Lauren DeStefano's Internment Chronicles, Simon Teen revealed here on Twitter.

Jennifer Armentrout treated fans to teasers featuring both Roth and Zayne this week! Check them both out below:

He lifted his hands. “I’m not going to laugh, but I think you should leave the razors alone. Besides, lots of things have feathers in their wings.”
“Like what?” I demanded.
“Like… like hawks,” he answered.
My brows furrowed. “Hawks? *Hawks*?”
“And eagles?”
“I’m not a bird, Roth!”

"When would I have had the time to say something even if that was the case?” Zayne retorted, voice clipped. “Between seeing Layla and when the Alphas actually showed up?”
Roth lifted his brows. “Are you getting snappy with me?”
“What does it sound like?” Zayne returned.
“I don’t know.” A slight smile formed on his lips as he threw his arm along the back of the cushion. I sighed, because I knew that look. “But you catching a tone with me is about as interesting as reading up on the benefits of a water purification system.”

Read the first chapter of City of Fae, a NA (new adult) urban fantasy by Pippa Da Costa, being released from Bloomsbury.

Hopefully by now you've seen this fabulous cover for Julie Murphy's DUMPLIN', which I LOVE. Well, Julie wants to see your DUMPLIN's pose! Share your pose with her and you could be entered to win an ARC of her upcoming book! Details below:

Be sure to get your Dumplin pose on and send it to Julie!

Have you pre-order your copy of A.C. Gaughen's LION HEART? If you have, head over to here to see what you'll get! Trust me, if you've read this series, you'll definitely want in on this. She's also got a link for fans to pre-order a signed copy of her book, who won't be able to make it to her launch party.

If you're in the Dallas area today, stop by and meet Elizabeth Eulberg!
She'll be at the new South Irving Public Library today at 4 pm!

A group of first-time YA authors have banded together to adopt 15 school and public libraries, offering participating sites the chance to receive a set of 15 books, Skype author visits, and virtual Q&As.

Starting on March 18, interested libraries that serve teens can apply to be a part of the project spearheaded by the Freshman Fifteens—a group of YA authors with 2015 debuts—called “Freshman in the Stacks.” Two Grand Prize recipients will be selected, garnering a full Freshman Fifteens library—one copy of each of the 15 authors’ debuts, along with book-related swag. Applications will be accepted until April 24, in time for School Library Month.

Thirteen additional locations will be sponsored by one of the writers, each receiving a “Book Club Prize Pack,” which includes 10 copies of the author’s debut and a Skype visit or an online interview. The Fifteens include New York Times best-selling author of Red Queen (HarperCollins, February), Victoria Aveyard, and Dallas school librarian and the initiative’s lead organizer, Jenny Martin, whose Tracked(Dial) publishes in May.
