ABC Family Sent us the official press release, which I've included below:

ABC FAMILY HAS ADDED ALBERTO ROSENDE AND EMERAUDE TOUBIA

TO THEIR DEMON HUNTING TEAM FOR THE SAGA SERIES “SHADOWHUNTERS”

Rosende and Toubia Joins Previously Announced Dominic Sherwood as ‘Jace Wayland’

Burbank, CA (May 1, 2015) – ABC Family continues to add to the “Shadowhunters” crew with the casting of Alberto Rosende as ‘Simon’ and  Emeraude Toubia as “Isabelle Lightwood.” It was announced today by the network. #SimonandIsabelle

Based on the bestselling young adult fantasy book series The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare, “Shadowhunters” follows 18-year-old Clary Fray, who finds out on her birthday that she is not who she thinks she is but rather comes from a long line of Shadowhunters – human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons. When her mother Jocelyn is kidnapped, Clary is thrown into the world of demon hunting with mysterious Shadowhunter Jace and her best friend, Simon. Now living among faeries, warlocks, vampires and werewolves, Clary begins a journey of self-discovery as she learns more about her past and what her future may hold.
Intelligent, very handsome in a non-calculated kind of way, Simon is Clary Fray's long-time best friend. He’s the first to find humor in any situation. An accounting student by day, Simon spends his free time performing in a band. His loyalty and feelings for Clary are tested as he fights alongside her on an epic journey.

Isabelle is an exotic-looking, model-beautiful Shadowhunter. An expert with her whip, she’s as lethal as she is attractive. A trained fighter who can kick-ass in high-heels, Isabelle’s one weakness is her choice in men – always going for the bad boy.

“Shadowhunters” is produced by Constantin Film and executive produced by Ed Decter and McG. McG will also direct the first episode. Dominic Sherwood (“Vampire Academy”) was previously announced for the role of ‘Jace.’

A few minutes ago, Variety tweeted the link to the following post:
ABC Family’s “Shadowhunters” saga series is filling out. Alberto Rosende and Emeraude Toubia have been cast as Simon and Isabelle, Variety has learned.

The two actors join Dominic Sherwood who will play Jace, whose leading lady Clary Fray is yet to be cast.

Simon, intelligent and very handsome in a non-calculated kind of way, is Clary’s longtime best friend. An accounting student by day, Simon spends his free time performing in a band. His loyalty and feelings for Clary are tested as he fights alongside her on an epic journey.

Isabelle is an exotic-looking, beautiful Shadowhunter. An expert with her whip, and a trained fighter who can kill it in high-heels, she’s just as lethal, as she is attractive. Her one weakness, however, is her choice in men, as she always goes for the bad boy.
Check out Alberto's and Emeraude's IMDB links for more information about their previous acting roles. And guess what? Emeraude's on twitter/facebook/instagram. Be sure to welcome her into the Shadowhunter family!

So, if we add Dominic Sherwood's picture into this post...

What do you think of our Shadowhunting trio? Do they represent the fancasting you had in your head when you read the series? Personally, I loved Dominic in Taylor Swift's "Style" video. We watch it a lot in my household because I live with both a Directioner and, well, both my daughters and I are huge Swifties. So, we approve. I think he will lend that snarky-hot look that we all know and love in our Jace. And Alberto seems to have that geeky look going. Emeraude's certainly got the dark, hot Isabelle-style. I'm looking forward to the next casting announcement.

(Aside: This is Sophie posting as Katie, so all 1D/Taylor Swift comments can be directed at me. LOL.)

THE FEARLESS by Emma Pass; Blog Tour: Author Guest Post

Hello and welcome to today's blog tour stop for THE FEARLESS by Emma Pass, hosted by Random House/Delacorte. I'm thrilled to have Emma on the blog today. Before I share my guest post from her, here's a little bit about her new book, The Fearless.

ABOUT THE FEARLESS

THE FEARLESS (Delacorte Press Books for Young Readers|On sale: April 14, 2014 | $17.99), a fast-paced futuristic thriller that is perfect for fans of The Hunger GamesDivergent, and The Passage. THE FEARLESS is filled with nonstop action, chilling secrets, and romance.

When the Fearless invaded, they injected everyone in their path with the same serum that stripped them of humanity. Life became a waking nightmare. Cass has the invasion seared in her memory. Seven years later, she and her brother, Jori, are living on Hope Island in a community of survivors. No one can enter, and no one can leave. It's the only way to stay safe.

But when Hope Island's security is breeched and Jori is taken by the Fearless, Cass will risk everything to get him back.

If I was Fearless…

I'm not a very brave person, really. I'm scared of heights. I can't swim. I don't like the dark. I've never been skydiving, and you wouldn't get me within a hundred miles of a bungee jump. No thank you. I'm happiest curled up with a book (I am partial to a good horror novel, so perhaps I'm not such a scaredy-cat after all), or walking with my crazy greyhound G-Dog.

However, if I could become utterly, truly fearless for a while, there's three things I'd love to do:

1) Explore the Paris Catacombs.
The Paris Catacombs are ossuiaries, first opened in the late 1700s, which hold the remains of around 6 million people. The network of tunnels, quarries and caverns covers 200 miles. It’s a well known tourist attraction – I've visited myself, and seen the piles of neatly stacked skulls, a grisly spectacle if ever there was one. But the Denfert-Rochereau Ossuary, the tiny part of the Catacombs which is open to the public, isn't really that scary (unless you have cartilogenophobia – a fear of bones). What's truly frightening about the Catacombs is the rest of it – the bit that's out of bounds. Endless pitch dark passageways and crumbling chambers littered with bones. Urban explorers known as cataphiles enter them through drains and sewers and other secret entrances. Imagine what might happen if your torch went out or you got lost – terrifying!

2) Go up in a hot air balloon
As I said before, I'm scared of heights, so the idea of floating 2000 feet or so above the ground, held up by what is basically a bag of heated air, doesn't exactly fill me with excitement (and the world record for a hot air balloon flight is 65,000 feet – that's higher than a commercial airliner! *shudder*). But if I could get rid of my fear, I'd love to try it.

3) Cross Antarctica
Antarctica is the Earth's southernmost continent, and at 14 million square km, is nearly two times larger than Australia. On average it's the coldest and windiest of all the continents and has so little preciptation, it's considered a desert. Temperatures have been known to plummet to almost -129 ºF. It's a truly hostile place, and anyone wanting to cross it would have to be extremely brave, and perhaps a little bit crazy. But it's somewhere I've always wanted to visit, so if I could become fearless for a while, perhaps I'd give it a try!

On second thoughts, just thinking about trying these things is giving me the shivers. I think I'll stay at home and read a book instead!
