Books and Tea: Pairing Adagio Iced Teas with Books / part 2

* * * * * * S P O N S O R E D   P O S T * * * * * * *
(We were sent teas from adagio teas in exchange for an honest review)

This is a continuation of the post below, where we thought it would be fun to pair adagio teas (check out their entirely outrageously perfect fandom collection -- Disney teas, Hogwarts teas, Dr. Who teas -- I swear, there's not a fandom that they've forgotten!)  with a book off our shelves that would pair well with the flavor of the tea.

The ceylon sonata iced tea is perfect when it's cold brewed in the refrigerator and left overnight to steep. One of the bags makes a generous 40 ounces, and the flavor is exactly what you would get in a classic iced tea. It tastes so much better than the usual, over-priced cafe tea. I've paired it with what else but, Lady Midnight. I think the L.A. Institute could sure use a few pitchers of this at its disposal. Especially Julian and Emma.

Ah, blood orange iced tea. You must try this blend by steeping in the fridge overnight because it comes out so deliciously perfect with notes of blood orange, rose hips and hibiscus. This tea is exactly what you need in the middle of the day or better yet, in the late afternoon. It's refreshing and caffeine-free.  I mean, look at that glass below. Doesn't it just make you want to sit in the afternoon shade and read some high fantasy story like Victoria Averyard's Red Queen series (link to Red Queen review / link to Glass Sword review).

The darjeeling sungma summer iced tea is what I will call the "tea of teas". It's a black tea, which I prefer, and it has a strong spicy, grape (muscatel according to the website) flavor. It simply quenches your thirst without a hint of acidity. I paired it with what else, The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi (link to review).

The last tea is the yerba mate iced tea. I loved this tea most of all. I have heard of the energzing properties of Yerba Mate. It gives you energy without the caffeinated kick of coffee (that I thrive on in these busy school year ending weeks). The flavor has been called grassy, but I would say it's just very light, delicately herbal and refreshing. It can be mixed with fruit juices and punches. I liked it over ice, stirred not shaken ;) . You will then have all the energy to solve high powered, Sherlock-style mysteries like those in Heather W. Petty's series, Lock & Mori (link to Katie's book-slump-busting, 5-star review).

So, what do you guys think? How were the pairings? My kids definitely loved the fruit flavors -- blood orange, peach oolong , mango and wild strawberry. While my husband enjoyed the darjaleeing and ceylon sonata, I preferred the energizing yerba mate.

The blends are all truly delicious and they do pair well with food (here's a list of those pairings) as well as books.

Adagio Teas has exceptional customer service. All the teas arrived very quickly once I placed the order, and they were carefully packaged. What I really enjoy are the resealable bags, which will keep the teas fresh. I hate how most teas come in those boxes that you just stack on your shelf, all loosey-goosey. As I mentioned above, my next purchase will be the fandom samplers, because HELLOOOOOO, who's been a fangirl forever?

As ususal, please, leave your thoughts in the comments below. Let us know what teas you would've paired with what books, and oh boy, which tea would be the perfect drink for getting through Lord of Shadows?

    1. Carina - They are really tasty teas. If I can get my kids to drink something other than soda and juice, I consider it a success! They love the fruit teas.
