Have you ever wished you could receive a little guidance from your favorite book boyfriend? Ever dreamed of being the Chosen One in a YA novel? Want to know all the secrets of surviving the dreaded plot twist?

Or maybe you're just really confused about what "opal-tinted, luminous cerulean orbs" actually are?

Well, popular Twitter personality @broodingYAhero is here to help as he tackles the final frontier in his media dominance: writing a book. Join Broody McHottiepants as he attempts to pen Brooding YA Hero: Becoming a Main Character (Almost) as Awesome as Me, a "self-help" guide (with activities--you always need activities) that lovingly pokes fun at the YA tropes that we roll our eyes at, but secretly love.

As his nefarious ex, Blondie DeMeani, attempts to thwart him at every turn, Broody overcomes to detail, among other topics, how to choose your genre, how to keep your love interest engaged (while maintaining lead character status), his secret formula for guaranteed love triangle success, and how to make sure you secure that sequel, all while keeping his hair perfectly coiffed and never breaking a sweat.

I can not wait to read this book. It sounds like my kind of read i.e. snark, humor etc. If you aren't yet following Brooding YA Hero on Twitter, you are missing out. If you are, you'll know why I can't wait to read his story. I highly recommend following him (here). I'm looking forward to reading this book when it's out!

Which upcoming release are you looking forward to reading?

In the fast-paced, high-stakes conclusion to Caragh M. O'Brien's Vault of Dreamers trilogy, Rosie travels to a derelict theme park to shut down dream mining once and for all. Driven by fear when Dean Berg kidnaps her family, Rosie Sinclair strikes out across the country to rescue them. When an elusive trail leads her to Grisly Valley, the contaminated ruin of a horror theme park, Rosie has to consider that Berg may once again be manipulating her every move to make her fearful, priming her for a final, lethal dream mining procedure. As Rosie struggles to outmaneuver Berg, she unearths the ultimate vault of dreamers and the hint of a consciousness more powerful and dangerous than any she's imagined before. Faced with unspeakable suffering and otherworldly beauty, Rosie must discover how to trust her mind, her friends, and reality itself. Propulsive and deeply speculative, The Keep of Ages concludes the Vault of Dreamers trilogy with stirring possibilities for what it means to be alive.

The Rebel Writer's Writing Tips

1. Resist lists of writing tips.
They only stress you with their deceptive implication that all the really important things about writing can be covered in a spiffy list of tips.

2. Go write your novel instead of reading further.
Sadly, you already know this is what you ought to be doing, but you crave the seductive combination of procrastination and a longing for advice that might actually prove useful. All rebel writers have this craving, I’m afraid. We desperately want to feel understood as only fellow writers can understand us, and we seek this affirmation in lists of tips that usually leave us feeling inadequate.

3. Don’t be so hard on yourself.
Apparently, you haven’t been able to abandon these tips so far. No worries. This probably means you’re working on an early draft. Chances are it’s rotten. It has no pacing, the dialogue goes nowhere, and the characters are boring clichés. You want to delete every wretched word, and yet deleting it all would be admitting failure. You’re addicted to this thing. It’s a sublime sort of misery, and so you’ll fight on, rebel writer that you are.

4. This tip has something to do with revising.

5. Save the spelling for last.
We all know spelling is important.  Countless readers will leap with glee to point out the smallest flaw in your novel because, by golly, spelling matters and that there’s a mistake. What’s harder to do is write something with an original story, and characters who move and challenge us. Do that first. Lavish your time and agony on what really matters. Transport and transcend yourself by writing the weirdest, most imaginative, most incredible novel you can. The trying alone is an immeasurable gift to yourself, so don’t let anyone take it away. Write like a rebel.

Caragh M. O’Brien is the author of the BIRTHMARKED trilogy and THE VAULT OF DREAMERS series, both from Macmillan/Roaring Brook Press. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Ms. O’Brien was educated at Williams College and earned her MA in the Writing Seminars from Johns Hopkins University. Her young adult science fiction has been honored by the YALSA Best Fiction for Young Adults, the Amelia Bloomer Award, the Junior Library Guild, and numerous state reading lists. A former high school English teacher, she now writes young adult novels full time from her home in rural Connecticut.

The Mortal Instruments Graphic Novel will be out on October 31st, 2017 and Cassie and artist Cassandra Jean have given fans a sneak peak into the book.

Check out Cassie's post here, and read what Cassandra Jean had to say about these panels.

Check out the spin art for the paperback edition of Lord of Shadows! Cassie shared the image here, and told fans that this image is of Julian and his crossbow. All I know is that I think I need to add this to my Cassie Clare collection of books.

I might have a new favorite TID fanart piece. Love this one of Will, Tessa and Jem, which Cassie shared here

EVERLIFE by Gena Showalter / Cover Reveal #EVERLIFE

Welcome to today's exciting cover reveal! I'm so thrilled to team up with Harlequin Teen to reveal the cover for EVERLIFE, the third and final book in Gena Showalter's Everlife trilogy

Isn't it beautiful? I've loved each of the covers in this series, but I absolutely love this cover. Each cover has been symbolic of the book it's featured on. Given the details on this cover, I'm really looking forward to reading this book.

Check out the covers all together:

These books look stunning all together. I can not wait for EVERLIFE to be released. I don't know what I love more, the cover or the tag line; "HOPE IS HER GREATEST WEAPON". I can not wait to see this book in person. I can't stop staring at the cover. I am looking forward to picking up this book next year when it's out.

If you're not familiar with the EVERLIFE series, what are you waiting for? It's such a great series, and one I've enjoyed reading. I definitely recommend picking it up. Keep reading below, as I've included the synopsis for each book, starting with EVERLIFE.

Tenley “Ten” Lockwood is an average seventeen-year-old girl…who has spent the past thirteen months locked inside the Prynne Asylum. The reason? Not her obsession with numbers, but her refusal to let her parents choose where she’ll live—after she dies.

There is an eternal truth most of the world has come to accept: Firstlife is merely a dress rehearsal, and real life begins after death.

In the Everlife, two realms are in power: Troika and Myriad, longtime enemies and deadly rivals. Both will do anything to recruit Ten, including sending their top Laborers to lure her to their side. Soon, Ten finds herself on the run, caught in a wild tug-of-war between the two realms who will do anything to win the right to her soul. Who can she trust? And what if the realm she’s drawn to isn’t home to the boy she’s falling for? She just has to stay alive long enough to make a decision…

My Firstlife is over, but my Everlife is only now beginning.

With her last living breath, Tenley "Ten" Lockwood made her choice and picked her realm in the Everlife. Now, as the war between Troika and Myriad rages, she must face the consequences.

Because Ten possesses a rare supernatural ability to absorb and share light, the Powers That Be have the highest expectations for her future—and the enemy wants her neutralized. Fighting to save her Secondlife, she must learn about her realm from the ground up while launching her first mission: convincing a select group of humans to join her side before they die. No pressure, right?

But Ten's competition is Killian, the boy she can't forget—the one who gave up everything for her happiness. He has only one shot at redemption: beating Ten at a game she's never even played. As their throw-downs heat up, so do their undeniable feelings, and soon, Ten will have to make another choice. Love…or victory.

If you haven't yet picked up the series, do so now! You've got time to read the first two books in the series before the third one is out.

We'd love to know! What do you think of EVERLIFE'S cover?
