I am so excited to be able to share this post with you guys! I'm thrilled to be teaming up with Penguin Teen to reveal Jessica Spotswood's upcoming release and sequel to Born Wicked, STAR CURSED, the second installment in The Cahill Witch Chronicles. If you haven't already, I highly recommend picking up the first book in the series. You can read my glowing review for it here.
Check out this stunning cover for STAR CURSED!
I am in LOVE with this cover! I don't even know what else to say other than WOW! It's mesmerizing. The stars, the storm brewing in the back ground, and having whom I assume is Cate standing in a field/meadow outlined by trees. I am really looking forward to finding out how this cover ties into the story. It's a beautiful cover. What do you guys think?
About The Book:
With the Brotherhood persecuting witches like never before, a divided Sisterhood desperately needs Cate to come into her Prophesied powers. And after Cate's friend Sachi is arrested for using magic, a war-thirsty Sister offers to help her find answers—if Cate is willing to endanger everyone she loves.
Cate doesn't want to be a weapon, and she doesn't want to involve her friends and Finn in the Sisterhood's schemes. But when Maura and Tess join the Sisterhood, Maura makes it clear that she'll do whatever it takes to lead the witches to victory. Even if it means sacrifices. Even if it means overthrowing Cate. Even if it means all-out war.
In the highly anticipated sequel to Born Wicked, the Cahill Witch Chronicles continue Cate, Maura and Tess's quest to find love, protect family, and explore their magic against all odds in an alternate history of New England.
Penguin Teen will be releasing this exciting sequel on June 18th, 2013!
You can Pre-Order it from: Penguin | Amazon | Barnes & Noble

"Blessed with a gift..."cursed" with a secret."
Everybody knows Cate Cahill and her sisters are eccentric. Too pretty, too reclusive, and far too educated for their own good. But the truth is even worse: they're witches. And if their secret is discovered by the priests of the Brotherhood, it would mean an asylum, a prison ship - or an early grave.
Before her mother died, Cate promised to protect her sisters. But with only six months left to choose between marriage and the Sisterhood, she might not be able to keep her word . . . especially after she finds her mother's diary, uncovering a secret that could spell her family's destruction. Desperate to find alternatives to their fate, Cate starts scouring banned books and questioning rebellious new friends, all while juggling tea parties, shocking marriage proposals, and a forbidden romance with the completely unsuitable Finn Belastra.
If what her mother wrote is true, the Cahill girls aren't safe. Not from the Brotherhood, the Sisterhood - not even from each other -quoted from Goodreads

ReplyDeleteI'm having major cover love right now.
DeleteIt is a beautiful cover, but I wish they would have kept the same theme as the hardback from the first- that was my favorite cover of last year!
ReplyDeleteI love the hb cover as well, and I'm normally not a fan of cover changes, but I love what they've done with these covers. Though I wish they could release a hc with the new Born Wicked cover on it.
DeleteI did love the cover for the first book, but I think this one is really pretty too. It does look more YA, I suppose. (Probably why I liked the first cover so much cause I'm not a teen.) I really do like the Star Cursed cover too! Can't wait to read it!!!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. I loved the first one, but love the new cover as well. I think these two covers stand out more, and they're both beautiful covers. Not that the first cover wasn't. I think all three covers have been amazing.
DeleteGorgeous cover! I can't wait for this one!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for it either!
DeleteI have a soft spot for stars and curses! I really love the cover. Very nice reveal. =)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love how the stars appear on this cover. It's a perfect fit for the title of the book. I can't wait to see the cover in person.
DeleteI cannot wait for this book! Born Wicked captured my attention like no other book has in a long time. Looking forward to reading more about the sisters!
ReplyDeleteI loved BW!
DeleteThis is a series that I just haven't gotten around to yet, I need to move it closer to the top of my TBR pile!
ReplyDeleteYes you do! It's so good!!!
DeleteDefinitely a pretty cover...but I preferred the original...maybe because I am not a tween/teen. But I can see how these new covers will appeal more to a younger target audience.
ReplyDeleteSo sad though that my covers won't match on yet another series...I'll probably just borrow these from the library.
The cover looks amazing! I haven't gotten a chance to read the series yet but now I'm really intrigued.
ReplyDeleteI think the cover is pretty cool, but I think I like the cover for Born Wicked more. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeletenot liking that the new cover goes along with the paperback! what happened to the HB design? ughhh frustrating!

I love the cover but loved the other one as well!
ReplyDeletewow sounds great looks great. i cant wait to read it
ReplyDeleteI have an issue with the cover for Star Cursed. The height of the font for the series (The Cahill Witch Chronicles) isn't consistent, and it's obvious and it's really bugging me. BUT I will say that it's so much better than that new cover for Born Wicked (though I feel that the new cover will reel in more of the 'right' audience--teens looking for a book about witches).
ReplyDeleteI liked Born Wicked okay. I wasn't in love, or really killing myself over the 'cliffhanger', but I do want to continue on. I hope I'm not disappointed!
The cover is gorgeous! Plus, I love the title-Star Cursed. Seems really intriguing!
ReplyDeleteThe two covers look great together. They each give a sense of what the story is about, but it's also obvious that the two are part of the same series. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great giveaway! I love the new cover!!!
ReplyDeletewow it is awesome
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this beautiful cover
