Authors are Rockstars Tour: Jennifer L. Armentrout

Hello! I'm so thrilled to be apart of the second annual Authors are Rock Stars tour. Today I get to spotlight the fabulous Jennifer L. Armentrout!

I am a HUGE fan of Jennifer L. Armentrout. She's one of a few authors whom when they have a book coming out, I don't care what the book is about, I'm totally reading it. From YA (young adult), NA (new adult) and Adult, I've read all her books, and each time I find myself falling in love with the new characters she has introduced me to. From those snarky, swoon worthy guys who get under the skin of those sassy kick butt love interest, to characters who play professional sports, are successful business people, or are guardians or literally out of this world, Jennifer's characters offer a little something to readers of all ages.

All hotness and awesomeness aside, her characters across the board always make me laugh. Each of Jennifer's books has a character who's one liners constantly keep me on my toes, and keep me laughing the entire time I'm reading the book. Speaking of books, I've yet to encounter a Jennifer L Armentrout book that I didn't devour in one sitting. Check them out for yourself. Jennifer's Young Adult books featured on MM's include both The Covenant Series, and  The Lux Series. Her New Adult books featured on the MM's Guilty Pleasures book review site include Wait for You, Frigid, and her upcoming release, Trust In Me. Her Adult book featured on the same site are The Gamble Brothers.

Origin is coming out soon any hints to where Daemon and Katy’s story will lead?
In the beginning of Origin, Daemon’s entire world revolves around getting Katy back and he will stop at nothing to find her.  Since the book is in dual POV, alternating between Daemon and Katy, you will really get a chance to understand Daemon and his state of mind.  I don’t want to give away too much, but this book is definitely different because you are getting both sides of the situation.

Sentinel is the final book in the Covenant series and you left us with a killer ending in Apolloyn. What can we expect for the finale?
ALL YOUR TEARS. Ha. Just kidding. Or not. I think that Sentinel is full of action, but it’s balanced out by the romance.  It’s probably the hottest book of the series.  You will get to see a lot of Alex and Aiden, but you will also get a lot of Seth, too.

Can you tell us a little bit about your new series The Dark Elements series coming out in 2014 from Harlequin teen?
The first book in the series is White Hot Kiss. I wrote the book in January 2011, so it's been a long time coming for me.  It’s about a half demon, half gargoyle named Layla whose kiss kills anything with a soul.  Since I’m not allowed to give specific details, I’ll just say that there’s a gargoyle hottie, who Layla has been crushing on for years, and a sinfully sexy, tattooed demon, who bursts into her life and claims to know all her secrets.  As a violent demon uprising begins to unfold, Layla finds that she may be the reason for the unrest, and, in order to stop it, she may have to deceive everyone she cares about by trusting the enemy.

Is there a chance that you will write a sequel to Cursed?
I wrote Cursed as a standalone, so I don’t have any plans to write a sequel at this time.

You are a crazy busy writer! How do you handle writing so many different series and genres and for different publishers?
I usually alternate between the different series and genres that I’m writing.  So, for instance, I will write a YA paranormal, then a NA contemporary to kind of cleanse my palate.  It makes it a little easier to find the different voices in each book and genre and to not get burnt out.

Do you listen to music when you write? Do you make playlists for your books?
I usually don’t listen to music when I’m writing, so I don’t make playlists.  I do sometimes hear songs that make me think of one of my books or characters and I’ll share those songs with my readers.  It's rare that I do make a playlist.

What about your writing routine. Do you have one? Do you have a lucky pen or have a go to writing snack you must have?
I’m really bad about writing in my living room with the TV on because I like the background noise.  Since I’ve moved into my new house, I’ve been trying to get into the habit of writing in my office or when the weather is nice, in the gazebo.  But, in a way, it seems more like work when I’m sitting in there.

You just moved into a new house and we love your new office pics from your blog. Does Loki like the new digs?
Loki loves the new house, but the noise from the ice maker freaks her out.   She also keeps barking at the mural that was painted in one of the bedrooms. And she spends the vast majority of her day staring out the front windows.

Are you working on anything new at the moment?
I’m currently working on the second book in the Dark Elements series.

Thanks so much for answering our questions Jennifer you truly are a Rockstar!
Thanks for having me!
